I am looking for a new laptop for about $500-$1000 with an i5 or i7 processor. What are some suggestions?

What are you going to use it for?

I'll always recommend the T-Series Lenovo laptops. They're business-grade though, and could be overkill if you're just using it as a casual machine.

Asus also makes good machines. Stay away from companies like HP, Acer, and Gateway. If you go Toshiba, Samsung, or Dell, be sure to read product reviews first since they have a lot of good models and a lot of shit models.
