Any advantage to 45 def over 40?

thinking about turning init pure into rune pure (for venge & turmoil mainly).

is there any advantage in gear for 45 def over 40 def? i'm not realy up-to-date on gear. only thing i can think of is berzerker helm - but could just use helm of neitz?

45 def allows for more def quests to be completed therefore being able to get bgloves+lunars+turmoil quest.

no idea where i got 40 def for helm from.

aren't all those quests possible with 40 def?

so is 45 def just for bezerker helm?

 

Bgloves are doable with 34 def but adding in all of the other def quests +dragon slayer gets you at 42ish.

 

45 defence is for Berserker Helm, 40 is for Rune, and 42 gets you a void set. I'd either get 40 or 42, the extra combat level isn't worth like 7 hit point (.7 in old rs) damage more.

you need 43 summoning for turmoil? is that right?

 

Berserker Helmet and Barrow gloves are the only distinct advantageous. Also more players recognise 45 defence as the legitimate rune pure rather than 40.

 

being a 40 def pure is virtually pointless. Go 45 def and you can get more of an advantage because of the helms.

 

Rune pures only benefit F2p.

I was 40-80-40 and 68/69 combat, and I could hit almost as much as pures my level with 31 pray and I just cut through them whilst they barely hit me.

 

45 defence is fighter torso

 

45 defence allows you to wear barrows gloves and berzerker helms -
Thus those with 45 defence are usually referred to as 'Zerker pures'.

 

^ what he said, Those are the main differences. Zerker + Turmoil pures are probably the best in the game currently (In my opinion).

 

40 def only benefits f2p rune pures. Since your going to be a member, just get 45 def.

 

every defence level matters even 41 would make me feel a bit safer than 40

yeh turmoil zerkerr vengy combo would pwn and not to mention ancients get 45 def

barrow gloves+ zerker helm, + torso + firecape +ags + turmoil + veng = total domination

 

if u want to get neitiz, ur ruining ur pure.. its 55 def

 

technically 48 defence if maxed ^.^ btw i call 45 defence a zerker/berserker....i think of rune pure as ftp lol
