FMA isn't still running, both of the series finished (FMA and FMA: B, they have different plots/not related). You should definitely check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, it's rated #1 for a reason! Very very entertaining and worth watching.

Pls no :( One Piece is still running though, just so you know haha.

Elfen Lied is on my to watch list, along with Ergo Proxy and Ef: a tale of memories + melodies... and Oreimo.

I'm watching Future Diary right now and cannot believe this is targeted at shounen. The fan service... and the content/psych effects... way too fucked up for shounen. Enjoyable though :)

    @Superman
When I mentioned FMA I should have specified :p You caught on though, I meant that I watched the original series when it came out way back. My sister wanted me to watch Brotherhood, but I still have to get around to it.
I'd suggest reading and watching Elfen Lied. The manga is a lot deeper into the plot, however the anime did a great job not changing too many things. Soundtrack blew me away... Even if it was just about 2-3 songs played over and over.

Well I still have to get around to watching the rest of D.Greyman I watched everything they had on Netflix and loved it :p Too lazy to read it, seems like the same thing from the few chapters I've seen. Anyone else finish D.Greyman? How's it look from the end of season 1? or 2, whatever they ended Netflix with.

    Four Animes I recommend:
    - Ao No Exorcist
    - Mirai Nikki
    - Hellsing
    - Shingeki no Kyojin

There are others that I recommend but most of them were already mentioned in this thread.

    EDIT: Four.

    Love that avatar :O

Hellsing was great, but you need to watch the abridged version too.

How was Ao No Exorcist? I was thinking about watching that one next.

FMA and FMA Brotherhood are by far my favorite amines. Close to those I'd recommend Avatar/Legend of Korra, Digimon (Seasons 1-3), and DBZ

When you say abridged, I'm assuming you mean the abridged series done by takahata101 on the OVA version of Hellsing which is fucking hilarious and well done.

[Previously had a video here. I decided to remove it since it might have released spoilers for Hellsing]

As for Ao No Exorcist, it's an anime I strongly suggest watching. I don't want to spoil anything though. The anime overall is pretty short :( but every episode is worth watching. Just watch it! You'll be glad I didn't release any spoilers.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention that Ao No Exorcist's OP 1 is epic!

High School of the Dead is also a good choice.

Oh please, gravity defying boobs? ._.

So, I finished Mirai Nikki yesterday, definitely recommended if you're into pyschological thrillers/mysteries. Relevant. I also watched 5 Centimeters per Second late last night. Many many tears were shed. The soundtrack was absolutely beautiful.

Attack on Titan is really good. Two that you've probably heard of, but still are amazing: One Piece and Death Note.

Hehe...good point. To some, that alone is what makes the anime xD. But honestly HOTD is an anime worth watching in my opinion. Mirai Nikki is an awesome anime as well! In fact, I had it in my four recommendations earlier.

Attack on Titan is also known as Shingeki No Kyojin and yes it's something I also strongly recommend watching. As for Death Note, it's a sin if you haven't finished or watched the whole series.

Was never a big fan of One Piece not sure why.

Shingeki no Kyojin is pretty good, pacing is a bit slow imo though. Manga format seems more digestible as you can speedread.

I never liked the One Piece anime either, but the manga is really good (once you get into it anyway, might be hard with the low quality scans lying around the internet).

Anyone seen Aku no Hana (rotoscoped anime)? I hear that despite it's... interesting art direction, it's actually worth a watch.

I really love anime a lot!
Well, my all time favourite is definitely FMA: brotherhood.
I'm currently hooked on Shingeki no Kyojin, it's currently airing in Japan.

I forgot to mention this anime [Katekyo Hitman Reborn]. I strongly recommend watching. I'll admit it's a little slow at the start but it begins to heat up after the first few episodes! Good humor also!

Inuyasha was the first anime I ever watched on TV. As for Sword Art Online, I can't believe I forgot to mention it.

Elfen Lied is amazing if you like romance/horror.
InuYasha is always one of my favorites.
Kiss x Sis and Chobits are both good animes, but more on the ecchi side.
I've seen a bit of Naruto, Death Note and Bleach and definitely want to finish those.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned school rumble. It's a masterpiece in its own genre.
