Anime recommendations

Hi all,

Looking for a/some new Anime's to watch, which are similarish to the below stated. Not looking to watch super old Anime's (1990's), or Anime's that have been ongoing for decades (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc).


Anime's that I've finished:

- Death Note
- Code Geass
- DBZ
- DBS

Anime's that I'm currently watching, more so awaiting new seasons:

- B the Beginning
- Attack on Titan

Lastly, if anyone could give me their opinion on the below Anime's, and if they are worthwhile, that would be great.

- Tokyo Ghoul
- Steins Gate
- Monster

I'd recommend Naruto, Bleach and Hunter x Hunter. Dragon ball has many similarities to them in the way they need to constantly surpass their limits.

Tokyo Ghoul: I remember the whole first season was just a huge waste of time, It's just character development for the second and the second didn't leave much of an impression since I don't remember much about it.

Stein Gates: Stopped watching it after 4 or 5 episodes was pretty boring for me.

Just my 2 cents but I will definitely need to watch them again or atleast try to now sequels are coming up, Might update this post after rewatching them.

Edit: Just watched the new episode of Tokyo Ghoul and I have no clue how it correlates to the 2nd season. I think it follows the manga and the 2nd season doesn't ?

 

@SellerMan id recommend watching Yu Yu Hakusho even if its old. very similar to DBZ

Alderamin on the Sky is a really great anime. its a military/strategy/action type anime which is similar to Code Geass just without the mechs or superpowers

and One Punch Man is a must watch. its an action/parody type anime but anyone whose into anime most likely has seen it and more than likely liked it.

@Zynce list is good. think he meant Overlord instead of Underlord though. That entire list is atleast decent and I would say good. I havent seen Claymore though, and never got into FMA though as the plot didnt interest me. the rest are dope.


also yeah should watch the last 3 you mentioned. Monster is really good. Steins Gate is already really good if youre into the genre. sequel for steins gate is coming soon as well finally. as for tokyo ghoul the first season was pretty good if you dont read the manga. second season was lacking and confusing as theres a big diff between season 2 and the manga.

Started watching Toyko Ghoul.

Finished season 1, half way through season 2, and coincidentally, season 3 was released 2 days ago.

Sweet, do you like the anime so far?

 

It's not the greatest, but one thing I greatly enjoy and can appreciate is how deep they delve into the main cast. Most Anime's ignore that, and you don't have a sense of connection with the supporting cast. With TG, you do, I feel.

 

Must be nice i had to wait 2+ years...

Watch Future diary, Parasyte and akame ga kill if you can.

 

well youre watching season 2 right now. its good character development for some and destruction for others.

also season 3 is totally different from season 1 and 2, as far as plot/setting/timeline go

Mirai Nikki is a must watch for anyone who enjoys anime.

 

Sword Art Online is captivating and underrated if I’m being honest

 

its similiar to tokyo ghoul. if u dont know the full story/manga u really love it but if you do then it disappoints you

 

It’s funny you say that. I just finished the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul last week (was my first Anime). I just started SAO this week and I’m hooked lmao

 

Sword art is one of the most main stream anime, Don’t think it’s under rated lol

 

lol yeah go figure. so people who only watch anime and dont read they are super entertaining. most the people who hate are ppl who read the manga and get disappointed because the anime cuts out certain things (which an anime has to as there isnt enough screentime or money)

 

A third season of Tokyo Ghoul started last month if you didn't know

 

Yea, it's pretty good so far. A bit slow at times.

Still waiting for someone to tldr the manga between season 1>3 for me lol.
