animated work

I'm having trouble while doing lighting animations. on some of the pieces I did there's a light in the picture that's on my "normal frame". But when im editing it in gimp I dont see one.

This one came out fine though.


And on both the signatures there seems to be light running through the lettering, which im assuming is glare from the lighting effects. but its there on all frames, even the ones without lighting effects.

Did you try making your background layer a darker color? I'm not very familiar with gimp but it might not be visible because there's not enough contrast with the background in gimp.

Are you starting the first frame correctly? The way you want it to be? I'd say double check that and make sure the lighting is correct. It should be (in the first image) having a light off to the right

 

i agree above the first frame that you start animating should always be exactly what you want it, or maybe you didnt delete a piece of a layer? try to erase that part?

 

It kinda looks like the light affect is pushed into one big circle then spread out a bit towards the end. Try spreading in more and blending it.

 

*** USE the option that let you do a transition between frames. Dont create each frame and move the light yourself like the first one.

How you do it:
Frame 1 : Light at the left
Frame 2 light at the right
Select both and use the option.


1. Light on Overlay (it will look better)
2. Dont start exactly at the beginning of the name. First frame, the light should be completly out of the word and (last frame too)
3. The light is going way too fast. Try having more than 20 frames for the light.

Cool to see you playing with animated effects, I like the halo one.

 

I can do it in photoshop now, these were made in gimp.
