Right now, there are several reliable hosts popping up that allow warez linking (though not hosting) which could easily be used. Even if the majority of staff don't like this idea, would it hurt to give it a trial run and see how much activity it gets in the first two weeks or so?

[It may take alot of convincing to get a warez section put in though]

 

The companies put together all of that commercial music, movies, and software that is meant to be sold to pay back the investment they originally put into it as well as generate a profit. Isn't promoting warez like scamming them?

Warez linking is legal, actually. It's the hosting of warez that get sites into legal trouble. I'm not saying there should definitely be a warez section put in now because its awesomeness will have an awesomeness effect but I'm just giving my opinion on it

 

I'm a member of 2 different warez forums, and almost EVERYTHING that is posted in BOTH forums is just copied from different sites. I mean, everything just gets spread from one forum to 2 more forums, those 2 turn into 4, etc. People could just copypasta something from one forum to the Warez section here. If that's not an issue here, disregard my post.

 

That's basically the deal with warez IMO too. One site usually hosts it (i.e. Rapidshit) and then different forums just link to it. It's not like Sythe is the actual host. Just say, a MM. No pun intended.

 

Alrighty then, what would we do about post count in the Warez section? Should posts not count? Because it's mainly just copying what other people on other forums have already posted, they're not original, meaningful posts.

If we added Warez to this site, it would make it illegal. Like Zypur and The Viper000 said before, Sythe might fall because of it.

Anyways, it's probably easier to google it.

 

It would cause drama, simply because of all the extra work mods\admins etc. would have to put forth in order to inforce rules etc. plus sythe would more than likely have a lot of problems with legal issue's which just makes it worse. I understand we need more people to flock to sythe.org but I don't think this is a possitive way of doing it.

 

Sythe.Org has always had a very legal side to it, albeit cheating. If a warez section were to be implemented, I think it would tarnish Sythe.org's profile.
And anyway, it would be like the User Educator section; everything in there can probably be googled for anyway. Viruses would be rampant.

 

I doubt that it will happen, but I still support. Voted 'Yes.'

 

After some critical thinking I realized this cannot backfire.

A warez section with no catches would appeal to more people, more traffic, more potential advertising.

As I said before, a simple disclaimer is all we need to stop sythe getting into trouble.

Having a reliable, convenient, site for warez sections would be really really handy
