An actual Front End or Front Page

While for me personally the current front page is just dandy, it could be a bit confusing to the new user what it is this website is actually about.

In this day and age it is incredibly uncommon for a website to just be a forum through and through, so this is why I've come to make this suggestion. For the sake of new users i think it would be beneficial to make an actual front end with information such as what this site is, what it strives to be, rules, specific links to registration and key points of interest within the forums, etc... an over all more user friendly experience.

Maybe, but that may be problematic for those who don't use computers/laptops for internet browsing, plus a good front end is very professional in my opinion.

 

I like the idea, whenever i first got here i was like wtf do i do. I went straight to the
runescape section because that was my game of choice but it took me awile to find everything
else im glad there trying to make our forumn alitle more simple because the way it was before
it was like going into a maze and just knowing you werent gonna get out but it looks good now.

But i totally support something like an overview page so atleast people know we have more to
offer exept for runescape and MMO games.

 

What about a box at the top with a description of the site and what it offers that displays to new users and when you're not signed into the page. Most websites usually have a description somewhere as to what the website is about and such.

 

I like that. I hate forums that have some stupid blog or something as their index.

 

It wouldn't be a blog.

 

Support, like Sythe mentioned though, it should focus primarily on new users.

 

A simple welcome screen/introductory screen explaining places a new user should probably look at namely the FAQ, introduction/farewell thread and a few informative/notable guides on staying safe when trading etc. with a "Do not show me this again" option, would be a good addition to the site IMO.
