Amend The "Personal Information" Spam Forum Rule

Maybe people should not attack people with stuff they didnt not intend to post in the spam forum with.


Or maybe people should read the rules.

 

It's not ridiculous in anyway. Where are your pictures or are you a sensitive fgt? No way should this just be only infractable especially if the dirty deed has already been done.
Also feel free to send me a picture where i can publicly post in the roasting forum without your permission ty.

 

I have posted picture publically on Sythe and I would not care in the slightest if they were cross posted to the spam forum. It's literally just flaming which is only an infraction. I don't see why this wouldn't just be an infraction as well.

 

Maybe im the sensitive fgt. Either way I still don't agree in the slightest. An infraction isn't going to deter someone from doing something unless they already have a buildup. If you want to stop something from happening and weed out the retards who don't read rules or do and simply don't care, this is one way. No way should any member of Sythe be tolerable of possibly attacking someone who isn't willing to participate.

 

Repeatedly ignoring staff decisions and the rules is plenty of reason to give someone a short ban. The personal information rule already allows staff to choose any punishment they wish. They should just trend towards the lower end of the spectrum and only move higher if the behavior does not stop.

 

No dude I don't think you see the whole point, it acts like a huge deterrent. It's been 1 hour after the photo has leaked. The SF thread has 10 posts already. The "harm" has already been done. That user never would have posted his/her picture publicly if they knew they were going to be posted elsewhere. There are rules protecting them and they knew that they were protected. The person who posted it elsewhere should be banned for atleast 30 days and nothing less as expected when the person first posted their picture.

 

I am specifically talking about photos that were already posted.

 

so if someone posts a picture of them on the 'faces of the donor lounge' thread for example everybody should be able to re-post that everywhere on Sythe without permission & in whatever context?

Can you tell me what rule those people agreed to when they first posted their picture?
As I mentioned in my last post multiple times there were rules there when they first posted their picture and they did so where they felt comfortable. If anyone should post their picture elsewhere they would be banned for 30 days, nothing less. That should be expected always if anything were to happen and it should deter anyone from doing so.

 

I disagree completely. It is on the person doing the posting to be sure they are comfortable posting their image and accepting the consequences if they do. A 30 day ban is absolutely insane for literally just reposting a picture without any malicious intent.

That's how it always was until a few overly sensitive people complained. This is the internet and you should know better than to post your face if you don't want people doing something as awful as reposting it.

 

So since people didn't like reposts of their photos that was removed for members? You can still repost Staff pics/info elsewhere on site according to the rule.

I don't understand why people feel like they're royalty or special. Let people post their photos on the site without having to feel like a bunch of trolls will just post it in every SF thread, or whenever they feel like it in SF. If that rule is amended what happens to information regarding Personal Support, pictures in Personal Support forum? Do we keep bans for people who repost those. It is just better that the rule is like so. Infractions wont restrict a person to repost something another person does not want to be in the SF. What happens when Person A posts, ok infraction, then Person B posts, ok infraction for them and the cycle repeats. So they don't repost it again but that persons photo/info is reposted by ten people. Why should one person who put their photo in a specific thread or area of the forum have the risk of reposts in that form. Where's the limit with infractions? There is none.

You can have one, but not both.

 

You can very easily have both. Posting in the spam forum does not guarantee that you will be attacked nor does a user posting a picture to the spam forum require that they want you to get attacked.

 

First off, the person posting in the spam forum does not have permission from the owner. Secondly, they are posting in the only forum where attacks are allowed.

So you claiming there's no malicious intent involved is just fucking stupid. Honestly man i suggest changing up your critical thinking skills. I have no idea why you were on staff before and I can see why you got demoted now.

 

I posit that if the person has already posted the image on Sythe, they have given anyone on Sythe implicit permission to use their image. If you were to quote a user's post where they posted their image, you would be reposting their image. It is ridiculous to think that quoting a post a user has made should be against the rules and therefore if you post your image on Sythe you are giving people implicit permission to repost it.

Whether we want to allow people to post them to the spam forum is an entirely different question. I posit that it is ridiculous to have a ban on doing so because many people have no issue with their image being reposted to the spam forum. A full ban denies the poster of the image the freedom to license the use of their property as they see fit, which is also ridiculous.

If we allow people to choose whether or not to limit the use of their image in the spam forum, I posit it is ridiculous to ban people if the person reports them if assign a default permission to post in the spam forum as they would not have known the person's intent to not have their image posted in the spam forum in many cases. If we assign a default permission that images can not be posted in the spam forum you are imposing a burden on the (what I assume) majority of users that do not care if you post their image in the spam forum.

In either circumstance of assuming a default copyright on the posted images there is problems and it makes more sense to me to avoid the situation entirely by enforcing an entirely free copyright.

 

Where did people sign "I post my image or info here and this gives you express permissions to post it as you will wherever you will". No where does it say that. Yes it's the internet, but that's why there is restrictions and rightly so. Just because said person posting picture is doing so without "malicious intent" it does not mean other SF posters will have the same mentality.

If an amendment is made a lot of people will be removing their images, because I'm pretty sure a lot of people did not post such images so that it can be reposted elsewhere such as SF.

 

They don't have to sign anything. No one except a very small handful of people have ever cared about people posting their image on Sythe. It's stupid to burden the vast majority of people who do not care to white knight for a few special snowflakes that need to grow up.

 

Where did they sign, "This photo is for this thread use only"?

Reposting a picture is for satire falls under fair use so they literally have no say in the matter, legally speaking. If you don't want it used, don't post it.
