Paypal Question - Important

Hey guys. So long story short, I sold 50M 07 gp to a guy for direct paypal, was to my mistake that he charged back the money.

Thankfully, even after I delivered the 50m 07 gp, I was able to send the money over to my bank and fully claim it. However, he charges back, and now my paypal is on negative balance. NOTE: I have no personal information on that, except for my name. Address is fake on the paypal as well.

Now, they say I have 7 days to provide proof, but I already know that it is impossible to win paypal disputes for virtual goods. Now that my account is on
negative $147, what will happen if I don't put money into that paypal?

Will debt collectors come after me? Note, I also do not live in the united states of america, I live in a 3rd world country right now lol.

Well they can't just take money out of your bank account that is linked to that Paypal account. You are safe... Buck up there was no need for this topic.

This is wrong. You can win, just varies from case to case. You should familiarise yourself with how paypal and disputes work, and what to do on a case by case basis prior to venturing into any business, in this case virtual goods trading.

 

You'll be fine. If it's fake information, there's no need to worry. It's happened to me.

 

Dispute the claim with all the proof you have, and you will have a chance of winning the disputes.
It's happened before that disputes with full proof, even IP, chatlogs, proof of skypename and even ingame trade on video was denied, but you sure have a chance.

Firstly.. You'd want to report the person who scammed you. Even if they don't have a Sythe account - get the skype name and email address of who chargedback known to others; don't let someone else lose out due to your laziness.

Also, your account is linked to anyone else in your house hold who uses;
1) your computer
2) your IP

Their accounts will become limited until the unsolved issues on your account are solved. 'Oh but I'm using a VPN' that doesn't matter in the slightest - Paypal can usually see that you're on a VPN and see the IP that you're truly using. Who knows, you might get lucky - but debt will always catch up to you. Last thing you want is 20 years from now when you're trying to buy a house a 50m Runescape gold sale debt ruins your credit rating and the best loan you can get is 10% p.a

 

Thanks for your reply divica. After further review, I noticed that the buyer did not actually chargeback, instead, I linked the email he sent me the money with to an orphanage employee. Apparently he had stolen he paypal account and used the balance on it to purchase rsgp, and soon after the original owner had logged in the account to dispute it. I've decided to just pay off the dispute and take the hit of losing 50M as the victims account was stolen.

 

I'm going to say it now, paypal won't go through all the hassle of finding you just to get a a few dollars off you, if its in your bank its safe, but if i was you, I would go to the bank withdraw all the money from your account and close it and open a new one with a new bank, but hey that's just my opinion.

 

This is a common scam, although you might have a little bit of the details wrong. What people will do is go through great lengths to hide their IP by using VPS/VPN what have you while sending the money to make every detail seem it's not them. A day or so later, they will log into their own IP address and then claim an unauthorized payment, saying it was stolen and that wasn't them.

If they hid it well enough, Paypal will believe them.

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do about this, if that's the case.
