    Buying account from PA?

    Hello,

I am thinking about buying account from PA.

Anyone experienced a trade through PA when it comes to account?

What information should I get other than the normal information if i want to make sure he doesn't chargeback? Haven't played rs in 4 years now...

They say I need to ask all the information to make it as safe as possible. What kind of questions could that be?

    Thanks.

I know this is a few days old. Curious if you had gone through with a trade yet or not?

RS account trade is notoriously risky, with it being the single one market which gave us the most headaches.

I'm not entirely certain if the RS marketplace has become more tame, or if we have naturally sifted out the majority of scammers in this area (we have black lists that extend as far back as 1999), but generally speaking out of all the account trades we process weekly (in the thousands), only about 2% experience any problems during the sale, and after the sale (like an account reclamation for example).

Interested to hear your feedback if you ended up making a trade.

Is that 2% based on RS accounts or accounts across all games?

People can always recover, if he has a really good feedback, chances are he might be legitimate.

Well, really depends on the person. I recently heard of PlayerAuctions and listed a pure account there about a month ago. I didn't have any reputation, but someone bought the account and I haven't done anything with trying to recover it. I was a bit hesitant at first because it was my first time there and I didn't want to get scammed. Things went smoothly though. I quit RS a few years ago, and even if I didn't I wouldn't try to reclaim the account back.

In any case, PlayerAuctions is a good virtual market trading place. It has a lot to protect sellers and buyers alike. However, it's really up to you if you want to go through with the trade.

There is always a chance to get recover, but as far as i am informed if your account gets recovered you can get same ammount of money back in playerauctions and buy another one, but downside is, it doesn't matter if you had billions rsgp or not in that acc...

    Its up to you tbh...

That is based on RS account trades.

If we did a platform average for all games then it is about 0.86% of orders which have issues after sale completion on PlayerAuctions.

Getting this product group down to these sorts of numbers, took a lot of work to accomplish.

In all honesty, people can and will always recover it back sooner or later, which is quite sad.

Has to do with their verification process. By the time you confirm your real life details and then go through the entire selling process most people aren't going to use it as a platform to scam on. Most of the 13 year old repeat scammers won't be able to, and even if they did they're prevented from ever doing it again.

Not to mention because of the real life information that is saved. That scares most 13 year olds off.

    Yes, that is correct.

It is true that this number was higher once upon a time (around 5%), and I believe some of you may remember me commenting earlier this year, that we had been considering shutting down the RS market for accounts.

While 5% may seem impressive compared to performance in a straight forum-trade, it is in reality, awful for us considering the following:

    - The amount of manhours spent on investigating and lending support to recovered accounts
    - The fact that we give after sale guarantees and award market credit to users who purchase insurance packages

It results in a negative, return on investment product group which not only affected our bottomline, but ever since I took over PA last year, I have been always concerned about the "user experience", and let's face it, purchasing something, and then losing it... well, that's pretty shitty.

Over the course of this year, I've worked with our Risk Management department to pay special eye to RS markets, and adjust rules accordingly. Which, as other people have mentioned in this thread, the increased "strictness" with this market lead to there being more fraud deterrent measures in place which ultimately lead to our marketplace being a very "inconvenient place" to scam.

I also have to place some credit in the hands of this community as well. As some of you have given some important insight to RS account trade which have helped us to spot patterns as well and improve the overall performance of our black lists.

The fact is, we are a marketplace. We don't sell accounts directly at 30% - 50% margins. We operate very thinly on 10%, and when we have to pay out for a $250 account with market credit, it hurts us quite a lot considering it takes an additional $2,400 to break even.

We dont' really have a choice, but to do our part and keep the markets as safe/clean as possible, espescially if we intend on having any future

I can tell you that the biggest problem with your way of handling business is that you do not ask the seller many questions. Some questions are stupid, you do not ask additional questions that may be the result of getting it recovered back.

I.e When did you create the account? Internet provider? Latest membership transaction ID inkl. date and year.

Instead you ask the buyers to get the information they need. I do personally think that this is your job to get as much useful information as possible.

I've bought an account on PlayerAuctions, it did get recovered but I was given a full refund in market credit. While it is annoying it got recovered in the first place the fact they were willing to refund me can only mean to me that it doesn't happen often. If PlayerAuction's accounts did always get recovered it doesn't seem financially viable for them to continue selling RS accounts as they only take 10% on the acc transaction, then 10% on the market credit. Including time spent on both orders by PA staff it doesn't seem from my view to be worth it if they got recovered often.

Without proof you're just throwing numbers out and expecting people to believe it, I don't believe your company is reputable enough for people to take a PR's word for it. In no way, shape, or form did your site put in "man hours" to resolve cases, all you did was have a live chat agent that could speak 10 or 20 words outside of their native language, where they gave you an Email in which you would get the same response that the live chat agent would give you that had no real meaning to your problem, in which you contacted another Email where you would receive more horrible customer service. If you raised enough fuss about a situation and went through hours of time and days/weeks of contacting you it would finally be looked at. In my opinion, some of the worst customer service I've ever seen to date. Even after a couple years, I will never use your site again and I will continue to redirect people who want to use your site. It was obvious what your motives were and customer service and managing scammed/dissatisfied customers was at the bottom of your list.

Bought 3 accounts of PA, 2 of which were of high value and haven't had problems for about 2 years now. It takes a small amount of research on your behalf to ensure the possibility of you getting scammed is small. For example check the sellers feedback on PA, go through any account sales they've made etc to make sure the account isn't being re-sold.
