ALT COINS

Hello guys,

I'm starting a thread to talk about what alt coins we're currently investing in and why they feel like good possibilities.

I'm currently in:

BAT: Because the founder is co-founder of mozilla firefox. The browser they have is really good and I dig their advertising model. Plus it's cheap enough that why not.

DOGE: Some whale bought 200 btc worth a few days ago so I decided to buy a little.

GRS: Super solid algorithm, smart contracts and scalability.

 

LTC: 99% of my portfolio. Some would call this stupid. But I see the real use case for LTC. Most other coins are literally trash and meaningless to me...

1. Once lightning network and atomic swaps become a thing (already best tested and proven), I see people holding BTC as an investment, because, well, why would anyone want to spend BTC when they know it could go up by 5% the next month...? I see atomic swaps with BTC great because although BTC will have lighting network, LTC won't be obsolete (like so many say). What people done understand is that LN will put a tax on BTC for the network, added on top of a regular network fee, and on top of that, BTC has some bad scaling issues. LTC on the other hand can handle so much more transactions and do it cheaper, and faster. This is perfect for if users hold BTC, but want to buy a cup of coffee. They can atomic swap their BTC for LTC and pay that way, getting charged basically no fee, having an instant transaction, and helps with the scaling issue.

Tbh I think you just are trying to buy btc for ur shit ltc that you bought cause you thought you were too late to buy btc

 

IMO it performs better than Bitcoin but people would never know that and BTC had first advantage, so I honestly feel like it will always straggle a bit behind.

But tbh all LTC owners give off that cult vibe. Either you hold LTC or you're a piece of shit.

Plus Charlie Lee looks like a complete fool on Twitter and other media.

That's why I don't own any Litecoin

Lol actually I hold 0 BTC and nah I'm actually not trying to buy BTC, unless it's to convert to LTC.

You are making yourself look very uninformed since you provide zero evidence to back up your claims

@squirrele yeah MOST are. I couldn't care less about why coins are in the next guys portfolio, but I do believe it is technically better than most coins out there and can help solve BTC scaling issues.

But this try hard gucci fella wouldn't know that, and will be wishing he bought once

- Schnorr Signatures
- BTC/LTC LN
- Decentralized Exchanges
- Litecoin being one of the only crypto mass adopted in ATMS (along with BTC)
- and that's all going to happen somewhere in 2018 or so.

What's funny is that yeah, Charlie is known as the big mouth in the space, but he is also one of, if not the most influential person when it comes to how people shape their opinions on technology and the price of BTC. He basically turned coinbase into what it is today. Charlie was the main person to push SigWit, tested it and proved the concept on the Litecoin network, and it lead to Bitcoin following suit. Litecoin also serves as a great tester/ little brother to BTC, and nearly all investors admit is it undervalued for what it delivers.

If you put your money in LTC in January 2017, at $3/LTC, you would've made between 21x and 30x

So yeah, Charlie has a big mouth but he knows that and if this guy seriously thinks that Charlie Lee, arguably the most important and smartest engineer in the space right now (maybe Valik but people have their own opinions on that), would leave coinbase and to start a shitcoin, then he is highly misinformed.

9/10 altcoins will fail in long term holding.
People will start to realise at some point that most alts have literally no use and are 99% speculative.

Personally I only hold a few alts for long term hoping one will succeed. (Blackmoon, Sonm, Boscoin and Populous).

But I do day/week trade alts for short term gains but always with the goal of getting more btc, which I trust.

 

bitcoin is cheap enough just buy that
