[I swear this shit is rigged. Look at how the moderator just reads the results so conspicuously.]

Someone find me a video with as much support for Michele Bachmann and I will acknowledge credibility in this poll. Otherwise this is all a conspiracy to bury Paul - again.

Wait, What? How can Ron Paul get 152 votes at 28%, when Rick Santorum has 718 votes at 4%?
    EDIT: Misread Fail

It's odd how they had a scattering category this year for the first time in like 25 years. Not to mention the fact that it had nearly exactly the amount of votes that would have put RP in first.

Even if he did get screwed, I think this is probably the best result that could have happened for RP. It still brings him lots of attention (I think he was 3rd on google trends last night) and shows that he has a chance. At the same time, makes it more difficult for people to just say that Ames is totally irrelevant.

Regardless of what happened, I'm happy with these results.

Stay away from libertarian candidates for political office. If one does get in, then it is likely the entire fiat mess will be blamed on freedom.

Well I simply see no other viable candidate to vote for because they're all a part of the "status quo".

It was my understanding that Neil Patrick Harris would be president. If not then I can certainly say I am disappointed in the world. Anyway I still have much thinking to do before I actually decide who (other than NPH) I would seriously consider.

Libertarianism and political action are not compatible. You can't claim the state is criminal then attempt to join it and use it as a tool to accomplish what you consider as "good".

You can't use the state to abolish the state, sorry. Not only is libertarian political action a failure in principal, political action as a whole historically DOES NOT WORK.

Really, stop wasting your effort in political action when there are much more logically consistent and effective ways of dealing with the state.

If you really claim yourself as a libertarian and want freedom, then do what is best. DO NOT VOTE. Do not give moral sanction to the immoral and criminal institution that is the state by pretending that it is voluntary.

It's the Illuminati trying to sway results. If Ron Paul gets elected he's probably gonna be killed before he gets his first day in office lol.

    Ron Paul 2012.

I've seen many arguments that point out that not voting doesn't solve much at all. I'd say about 20 million people are completely dominated by the news media. So even if everyone BUT those 20 million quit voting, that's still 20 million people and the electoral college. In either case, we're screwed.

However, the argument of beating the system using the system would be to do this. I think most people that want to 'smash the state' understand that the Federal Reserve is to blame for a lot of this mess. However, the only way to smash the federal reserve is to either: get someone into office that can cast legislation to strip them of their power, or to get a massive amount of people to wake up. It seems to me that the former is easier than the latter.

For the record, I don't side with Libertarians. In fact, I don't think I side with any of the political parties. I fall all over the place with my ideology.

    Easier =/= better.

Nor does it mean sustainable. Sure you can change the hood ornament on a car, but that doesn't change the fact that your car still won't start.

Libertarian political action is HYPOCRITICAL. You can't argue one way then act another way. Putting the gun in the hands of the person you agree with solves nothing. GET RID OF THE GUN. Only then can we achieve true freedom (property rights, non-aggression, etc.).

Getting a mass of people to wake up is the only solution. Sure, you probably won't see the results in your lifetime, but by embracing libertarianism and rejecting political action you are setting up for future freedom.

Political action solves nothing, accomplishes nothing, and just further perpetuates the state by legitimizing it.
