Afraid of Death?

Are you Afraid of Death?

Yes and no.

I have a mixed feeling about death. I think that nothing happens when you die and that it just ends....but i don't know until i am actually dead...so not knowing what happens makes me scared of dieing but at the same time i look forward to it.

 

I am afraid of death, death can be easily caused without you knowing.

For example, about 10 years ago in a school trip I was standing in the edge of a cliff, and the guy next to me almost fell onto me. :S

I won't be afraid of death when I'm older, as I'd done a lot in life. I hope.

What is there to be afraid of? If I know I've lived a good life on earth and helped people and tried to do good, then why should I be afraid of meeting the creator?

"We are all going to die. Why procrastinate?" makes a lot of sense to me, but I really feel that I have something to live for, so actually I'm a bit afraid of death. Well I'm not afraid of it, I just don't want to die, because I am so happy here on Earth.

 

I'm not afraid of death. But I try my best to live longer. Death is perhaps the scariest thing, because you don't know where'll you go once you enter the dark.

Depends what mood I'm in to be honest.

There are some times when I'm like, I could care less if I die it happens to everyone.

Then there are times when I'm like, I would like to live a bit longer to see how my life turns out.

Most people are afraid if death because of not knowing.. Like little kids who are afraid of the dark.

Honestly, I'm not afraid anymore... Been around it too much.

 

I am - imagine being dead for years and years and years, milleniums of nothing.

On a postive note, if there is an afterlife, imagine living for years and years lol. Works both ways.

 

There are really two thoughts on this topic. One being, are you actually scared of dying, and the second being do you just not want to die just yet? Me for one, I'm not particularly scared of dying, I'm just scared of what I might miss, and the fact that my parents and friends would all miss me greatly.

Example: If someone held a gun against my head and threatened to kill me, I would be more afraid of the effect it would have on my friends and family, and the fact that I want to live and experience much more., I guess you could classify that as being scared of dying.

I, myself aren't scared of death. Once i'm dead, i'm dead... Its more of the actual 'Dying' part. Once i'm dead there shouldn't be anything.

It also makes me sad to think about all of the things I may of missed out on, and to think in the FUTURE, you MAY be able to live forever
that would suck.

I want to die a quick and painless/peaceful death; i.e not tortured to death.

 

yea stuff being tortured, fast would be the way to go. e.g if I was standing in the middle of the road and I was facing a car driving at me and KNEW I COULDN'T escape. I would run head first into the car and headbutt it as hard as I could, so I could die fast. I myself would hate to be a handicap person. (NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE WHO IS!)

 

There is a difference between being afraid of death itself and being afraid of not being here. I think when I'm dieing I'll be more worried about the effect on my family rather than me actually being dead myself.
I find it hard to comprehend me not being here and my family living without me, what would it be like and how would they live differently without me around? It would be very strange.
