Administrators

Now with Finn's demotion, we are left with three general administrators, which might as well be no-one. The administrators on this site do nothing, and as of current there needs to be change. Loyalty aside, the administrative group needs a re-shuffle and there is a need for new members.

Pen
Pen's activity has dropped rapidly, almost to the extent where he isn't on anymore. He has always been a good member of this site, and nobody can deny that. What can be denied is his lack of activity of late. He has made 50 posts in 100 days. Equivelant to one post every second day. That is utterly unnacceptable. It would be hypocritical to leave him as an administrator, after that which happened to SMR.

Matthew
He is head of donations, and has been doing an excellent job at collecting donations. However, his activity within the forum leaves a lot to be desired. I would leave him as an admin.

Sythe
Sythe has been a lot more active as of late. Still, I feel he is reluctant to discuss or be a part of his staff's discussions and does no decision making

Now it leaves us with the question, Who replaces who and what does our administrative team look like. Well to be fair, I think two administrators plus Matthew and Sythe is a fair amount. Before you say it is too much, we have previously had 9 admins at one time. I personally think, that for once, the users should get to vote and who gets what. I am sick of poor decisions being made at poor times.

So who are the candidates?
Blupig
Would not be suitable IMO, as he just received global. Out of the question. Good as global

Daily
Would be the first person I make an administrator. He has done it all, and has been around long enough to know how the staff works. Is active.

Giddy
Just got unbanned, so I do not think he will be considered.

Jansen
Like Blupig, just got promoted. Has rumours going around that Sythe does not want to ever administrate him again.

Ryan
Like Blupig. Previous administrator.

Sin666
Would be the second person I make an administrator behind Daily. Active, smart and been around for a while too.

The_Viper000
Would make a lovely administrator, but he will not make the cut. Would be the reserve if either Daily or Sin declined the oppurtunity.

Would be like replacing Pen with Pen. Inactive. If activity was higher, would love to see him as an administrator.

That leaves us with

Matthew
Daily
Sin666

Remember, One of Finn's reasons of resignation was being the only admin who did anything. We do not want to bore our admins. We need an active and public administrative group. One that is actually willing to talk to users and not hide being private msns.

I would then promote both Darkgroove and Tgump to globals, seeing as they have probably been the most deserving two sectionals. Benwise90 and MegaMatt would be the next two to spring in mind.

I really agree with what you've said here.

For sure, Daily and Sin666 are not only the most qualified, but the most active.

They deserve it.

 

Daily's cool, don't know Sin at all but from what I've heard she could probably cut it too.

 

I hate that excuse. What more could Pen being doing? I would like to see him post on this thread within two days. He also has no public Msn and hides behind a private one.

You are correct.

She would make a perfect admin to be honest. She is the no nonesense type of person every site should have.

 

Its being taken care of by staff, not for public discussion.

 

And why is that? Us "public" is what makes this site. How can we keep letting the staff make poor decisions or decisions made while riding on a boat. I would like public discussion to be allowed on this topic. At least let the users voice their opinion, even if it is not followed.

 

Promotions have always been the staff's decision.

Not to dig into the bag of generic Sythe responses, but the members don't know enough about mod activity and contributions (particularly in the staff lounge) to really be able to make informed decisions about who deserves a promotion and who doesn't.

If you have a strong opinion about one person or another, it's better to bring the suggestion to a mod.

The main problem with these threads is that they tend to cause more arguments once the official decision is made.
