Sitting low, go back a few pages in this thread and read my posts since I became active in here. I am a heroin addict myself, and I know first hand what addiction is like and the extremely negative consequences that it can have on a persons life. I have lost almost everything you could imagine to heroin in the last 2 years, and am still struggling to get off of it daily. I am now also hooked on pharmaceutical methadone, which I take every single day in front of a Pharmacist in order to help keep me off of heroin and from getting sick.
My comment about the marijuana is that I simply wish I could be one of those people who can casually smoke pot whenever they want, and suffer no consequences to their lives whatsoever. I know alot of people like that, and I envy them, as I have never been able to use drugs & alcohol "recreationaly". Addiction is hardwired into my genes, and no matter what drug I am using, I always take things way too far and get myself into heaps of trouble. When you are an addict, to ANYTHING, its not necessarily the drug of choice that is the problem, it is the underlying behaviours and tendancies that cause that drug of choice to cause absolute wreckage in your life. This goes for all drugs, whether it is pot or heroin, and for any other sort of addictive things... video games, sex, gambling etc. All addicts have the same behavioural tendancies, and this is why I cannot handle ANY substance without starting to act like an addict. I may stop using heroin, but then I find myself in a month with a serious alcohol problem for example. Sobriety seems to be the only choice left for me.
So I can respect your problem with weed, because I know one of the hardest things about quitting any drug that you are used to using, is having to change your lifestyle completely. I am 20 years old and have been using hard drugs/alcohol since I was 12 years old. That is almost half of my life using drugs/alcohol. The concept of living without them at all is terrifying for me, as they have been such a regular part of my life for so long.
