Addicted to Runescape

Hello all,

I used to be very addicted to play a few of years ago and after releasing that my real life was being disrupted and accepting that I needed to stop I took almost a year out of playing.

At the peek of my 'addiction' to playing I would play at least 12 hours on a day off, and anything around 18 hours on a 'bad day'. I found myself missing out on stuff my friends where doing, and neglecting my education as well as home life. I went through a really bad stage for about a month where I would skip school just to play (not a whole month, during that month), which when I look back now I am quite ashamed of.

It has been nearly 3 years since I was as bad as that and I can happily say I have moved on a lot and I rarely play, maybe once or twice a week if I am in the mood and focus purely on my real life issues.

My questions are:

- Are you / have you been addicted to Runescape ?
- How bad was it ?
- Where are you now ?

 

Never have been that addicted...haha... but I am glad you are getting over it.

I was at the first time I played it back on 05 I used to play like 3-5 hours on a daily basis and my grades weren't that good but I was like 8-9 lol and At the moment I can say proudly that I'm no longer a runescape addict.
- How bad was it ?
If it wasn't for my grades I wouldn't say it was bad cause most of my friends stayed with me if it werent for them well I would still play tho.
- Where are you now ?
Just lurking around some forums and botting occasionally.

 

I have only had one account which is like level 55, never liked RuneScape.

 

Hmmm is it addicted if you play 10hours a day since you have the time to do it? Haven't really neglected anything or anyone. I made it so that I go out once a week to a club/pub, twice to coffee with friends, and sometimes family time, other than that I just had too much time and I played rs. Also at the time I had trouble sleeping so I thats how I managed to do everything. Slept only 4-5h a day.

Where am I now?
I sleep 13-14hours a day. Still play rs, but only 1-2 hours, sometimes not at all. I do however bot a lot.

 

I was also addicted to the game also, i always took breaks though but i always came back to the game, but i can say for i dont look like i will change my mind this time i hate EOC

 

was addicted to rs, wasnt bad, i ended up sellin my gold for $1300, and now im playing league of legends

 

I force my bot to be addicted to rs. I myself only play it actively for about 15mins a day.

 

I play ten hours a day with my powerful main to earn hard cold pile of Gold just for the sake of selling them here on Sythe for those who are in need of them. Asking if I'm an addict? yes I am. Lol

 

I have been addicted yes, but now I am not addicted anymore.
I would play almost all day and everyday

 

I wouldn't say I was ever addicted, because when you become addicted you start to lose the enjoyment that the game can bring you, but if you play casually you enjoy it.
I probably played 2 hours a day on weekends max at my peak.

 

I was very similar to you and i also took a year off scape

 

Never to rs but to wow yes. I used to play up to 16+ hours a day, neglected family, friends, school. Used to raid at night for 4 hours 3 days a week leaving me 3-4 hours sleep before school. I'd always be late, often leave early to play more. Have over 200 days play time over all chars. Thankfully quit a year ago.

 

I used to play seven hours a day and now i rarely play it ......

 

- Are you / have you been addicted to Runescape ?
I once was, probably about a year ago was the worst. I'm over it now, though. EoC came at the right time and I quit.

- How bad was it ?
I would play about 12 hours a day. I would get stressed about my school work and then procrastinate about doing homework and then end up in a bigger mess by using Runescape to get away from it all. I was suffering at school because of it. I spent about 3K$ on gold.

- Where are you now ?
I've grown out of the game, it no longer gets me hooked and I'm doing much better in college. Everything's good ^_^

 

Erm I used to sleep on the floor + set an alarm clock to avoid oversleeping to ensure that I could play RS for longer.

But I've stopped that now.

 

- Are you / have you been addicted to Runescape ?
I, sadly, have been addicted to RuneScape. I played the game for around 6 years, started when I was 11. I decided to quit it once last year as it got me bored, but then I got back to it like 6 months ago where I decided to finally quit it as I realized it wouldnt take me anywhere and it was consuming a lot of my time that I could be investing in better and important things like studying.

- How bad was it ?
During my RuneScape gameplay, I cant say I didnt have a good time. I enjoyed when I played but one day I woke up and realized it was useless, the game was an addiction to me and it was taking over my life. I understood I needed to put an end to it. I used to fight with my family just to play RuneScape, I got mad everytime my family told me I was addicted to the game as I couldnt admit it. Since I quit the game, my relationship with my family is better than ever.

- Where are you now ?
Right now I am in college, my life is actually fine. I am having good grades, which I didnt when I played RuneScape, I realized studying isnt even hard, you just need to have the will to do it. Regarding gaming, I sometimes play call of duty in Ps3 but I wouldnt call it an addiction as I rarely play.

 

Is it really that hard to quit runescape?

 

I was very addicted to runescape until last year when I sold my account. I would play over 8 hours a day.

 

Never been addicted to the Runescape. Only addicted to WoW. Upwards of 19 hour days at my peak.
