Set minimum requirements to offer MM services

Currently anyone is allowed to post a Middle Man thread and offer middle man services.

I believe that a 100 Post count requirement or some other factor should be set as a minimum in order to offer Middle Man services.

This isn't a service that new users would come to Sythe to specifically for, selling their account would be and I believe that a 100 post count requirement would deter users from that market, this isn't that market.

The Middle Man section is generally for more involved users who are seeking to build their already grown reputation on the site. Setting a minimum to offer these services would deter people who are attempting to scam and would ensure that users are offered a service meant to promote security would receive said security.

 

Also if it could be set so 2FA is required to post a MM thread I think that would be a beneficial change.

 

I mean sure, but those willing to choose newcomers over well distinguished users as a MM are only hurting themselves. Even in this instance I find it rare for that to happen.

 

Free market, you can't tell people they aren't allowed to offer a certain service for no other reason than being new.

I can understand if they've done something sketchy, for example, never post from a home IP.

 

No support, free market. We can't spoonfeed everyone a safe trade. It remains in everyone his own hands to make sure a trade goes right. There's enough guides and stickies around here to seize the chances of getting scammed.

 

No support as well, someone willing to take someone with 60 post count ( and even use that as a symbol of trust) versus taking someone with 1k+ vouches is almost asking to have something bad happen to them.

 

I support the suggestion. Eventhough it is a free market I think middlemen should fall outside this. Similair as to how not every baboon in real-life can pretend they are from an insurance company, I feel like not everyone should just be able to open up a middleman service with minimum trust.

 

No acc for the reasons above really. We can only do so much in terms of keeping people safe and at a certain point they need to take the time to look around and make sure something like a middleman is actually trusted before they do high value trades. Something like 2FA would be fine but in terms of post count etc, I can't get behind that.

 

People can offer the services they choose and it comes down to user discretion whether they should use another's service + pretty sure we have limits on sections on the DNS list.

Seriously, when in doubt, use someone trusted. We have OMM's for a reason.
