[DENIED] Add #Middleman and #Donate sections to trade on discord

No, because the current state of discord is has terrible identity issues due to their nitro and case sensitive tags. Sythe should not be condoning trades over discord, atleast that's the stance the staff took a few months back which I completely agree with.

Discord is not the only medium out there, Slack which is similar to discord in many ways has better security for trades. I would rather people use that instead of discord.

Trading has recently been readded to discord

I don't understand what this has to do with the suggestion.

 

1. Nobody intentionally reads those, only after they're scammed or specifically told by someone to read they do it. I do mention to people at any chance I get to read the sticky threads.
2. Due to popular demand, has to do nothing with security or safety
3. I'm talking about a better and secure way to trade, where the risks of being impostered/scammed are minimal or almost non existent.

What if it was a channel on Discord that was not even open for discussion.

Exactly like #botting-with-sythelib.

Just an idea I had. That way people could just go to the channel and PM either an OMM (who would post a short message) or a BondHolder (Who would also post a short message).

The channel would just have like 5 messages from the right people with their prices ect. So you could easily just PM whoever you wanted to from that to their verified discord (also stops imposters trying to post in those channels).

 

So you're saying only people with relevant rank can post in that channel?

 

Everyone with relevant rank gets one post. Then the channel is closed. So its not scrollable. Simply a screen like an announcements channel with a post from each of the ranks (OMM / Bond Holder).

Because there is no need for discussion in those channels and all discussion would do would be hide the people you want to contact.

 

I don't see how that helps, when they have a dedicated section on the right column

I can support what @John Devola said and have a channel that's locked and only 1 short message(1 or 2 sentences) from every OMM.

 

No support because by doing this you are driving traffic away from this site and bringing it onto discord. We don't need more dead forums, we need as many people as possible to continue posting.

 

In support of this, I also feel that choosing a MM should be based off of more as opposed to just a discord name.

 

Could we also have someone disable reactions in the #trade section?




I know "haha xd troll" but some new people to Discord aren't going to understand that.
I don't feel like it's fair that people can just react with "scam" underneath.

I am biased so yes, middleman section please.

 

Good idea with the reactions, i've just disabled it in the trade section.

As for the middleman channel, i'm indifferent with it. If something like this were to be implemented, it would most likely be for people to advertise their MM thread on Sythe rather than offering direct MM services through discord. This channel would be strictly for offering services rather than requesting services as that would make people a target for imposter scams.

 

I believe it's about time these things get added.

I myself middleman over on OSbot, and i'm one of maybe 4 verified middlemen (similar to a OMM) but with that being said would expect the same. Not everyone wants to come on the website to look for them and if it's there offered, people will know they can use it at least.

Also I agree @Chloe bit of a childish move that people put "scam" bullshit on stuff.
