Add an "Urgent" selection box to reports

This idea is quite simple. I believe that there should be a selection box under the text box for reports that reads:
[] *Urgent!*
*Please only select this option if the post being reported puts other members of Sythe.org or anyone else in danger. Abuse of this box will be infracted*

Mostly for use with phishing links, drive-by's, etc.

Opinions?

 

It would be a good idea if people could use it responsibly, I just know that if it was there people with clouded judgement would use it for every report.

 

They'd know to stop after they took a look at their infraction screen.
Misuse = infraction for yourself.

 

well then it'd create more work for mods having to infract all the misusers

But support if we can find a way around the misusers

 

I see that as the only negative, I believe that the pros outweigh.

 

This is pointless, It wouldnt change the fact that staff still have to check the reports section anyway.

 

Describe what urgent reports are.

Staff get to the reports when they get to it - no one can really change the time.

 

Staff don't take time to go to report until they finish the rest of their pressing moderating duties, and it's a huge turn off when they log and see 100 reports pending, so it gets shoved to the end of the list.
If they log and see *Two urgent reports!* In my opinion, they will be more likely to read them ASAP, which is the entire point of the box. Users will then be protected faster, and less of our members will be at risk.

If I'm incorrect about the moderator's stand above, please correct me. I'm only guessing.

 

It would be MASS abused, even if the staff threaten to infract someone abusing it.. it'll still cause so much abuse. And the staff check it regularly anyway.

It's a good idea if it can be implemented. There needs to be an obvious line between urgent and normal though. Also accidentally hitting the urgent button in this case would result in an infraction, which could lead to an accidental temp ban.

 

This is basically what'll happen.

 

To be honest, when I send in support tickets to my webhost and such, I always check the "urgent" box, just to get a faster response. People would do the same, when it's not urgent.

A good suggestion, but will be easily abused.

People being scammed for a upgrade, getting scammed for 1m, will use it.
Yet there are bigger/more severe things to handle than banning someone ASAP for scamming small amounts.

 

What about a whole list of possible things to select?

Such as:

[ ] Spammer
[ ] Scammer of 1m+
[ ] Scammer of 10m+
[ ] Scammer of 100m+
[ ] Phisher / Java Drive-by

And each one just makes the background of the alt1 a different color in the threads list? Such as a different shade of red, the more serious the offense, the darker it is.

Just a suggestion.

 

It's not for scamming.
Maybe i wasn't clear, this is for things like:
-malicious links
-virus software
-java drive by's
-porn

 

As posted above, every report will become "urgent"

 

Blade, everything is urgent.

Urgency to ban a scammer before they scam again (even if its 1m)
Urgency to ban a person posting phisher/viruses (And remove the link)
Urgency to remove porn.

Everything is urgent, that is why all reports are handled the same.

 

I post 50-100 successful scam reports per day that are for spam/flaming/double post/ irrelevance/ etc.

Those aren't urgent.

There are time when a person disputes and still keep buying golds, they should be banned ASAP with threads removed!
