Account Wiping; How Often?

today there was a wiping of old names; how often does that happen, how old of accounts (how long must it be inactive) for that to occur?

there is a 4 letter name i'm after for my main, it is not ranked, never been p2p based on failed recovery attempts. (to get it banned so name is available)

is there any way to get fagex to wipe an account?



side note: what is the best way to get pmod; does stuff like reporting known bots have any value; or is it just sucking jmod dick, if so, what works best to gain attention?

stuff like "finally found how to hit jmods" while whacking one with rubber chicken, then mod spawn one and hitting back?
or supporting(not really) the jmod stance on pvp, saying to ppl near the mod flaming about pvp that no matter what, it won't come back, its been too long, they won't change their mind (said only to "suck dick" i HATED pvp nerfing)

 

There was a newspost a month or so ago that explained some of the criteria for wiping the names. Usually it's the lower level accounts who have never been a member, trained skills, or even logged on in a while.

And, yeah... generally being helpful, reporting (although don't make it that obvious by only reporting ess bots), and sucking any type of mod dick.

 

k, wasn't clear about jmods, what type of stuff gets you noticed?
i'd screwed around with a jmod using rubber chicken, "finally found a way to hit jmods" then jmod(forgot name) spawned one and hit back

 

Like I said, being helpful in most ways. You should know though, if you're goal is to become a mod then you're likely setting up yourself for disappointment. And no offence, but I don't think that JMod still remembers your name.

It's very unlikely. Think how many hundreds of thousands of people play runescape, the majority would love to be a pmod.

Due to the fact that you post these forums, unless you know exactly what http refering, tracking cookies, and how to cover up your tracks you'll never even pass the security phase of the account review, let alone get noticed. 60% of new mods come from Moderator reccs, the others come from JMod tip offs to Pmod recruiters from seeing an excellant contribution to the community via the forums or ingame. Also, you can't act like you want it or have ever asked a pmod about becomin one. Yes, they check chat logs, and every little detail on accounts. They don't want leakers on the team.

ive had a long discussion about becomming a pmod. basically it consists of being nice to players. reporting doesnt do much. they mainly look for being nice to players and helping them. and over time the players can mention you in the forums and the mods will notice. when the keep seeing your name they will take action. i email them.

Jagex looks at every recommendation given by a PMod / FMod and reviews the account. New Mods are only recruited in specific waves, and during certain months. For example, right now we are not. In January we are. Accounts that are deemed worthy mods have their IPs, behavior, history, etc. Only Mods that past all 7 stages at Jagex get a crown.

I have PMod & FMod access.

 

I think I read that they originally only wiped accounts that had been inactive for 5+ years. I dunno how old that newer wipe was.
