Account Sales - List Of Accounts Not To Buy!

Hey, over the past month i've spoken to quite a few people who have been scammed by buying accounts, 2 of which were IRL friends, a few buyers who was planning on buying my account but went for the cheaper option.

What im Suggesting:
A Popup / something attractive advertising accounts which have been recovered / scammed in the past whenever somebody views the account-sale forum, the thread / whatever it will be will allow all mods to Add to the list. and only certain admins allowed to remove from the list? and Yes i know this would be annoying. but its a step in the right direction isn't it? it would help all MM who are middlemanning an account sale to quickly search the list for the account they are MM'ing, and would also help buyers.

this is just something quick i thought of, everyone is welcome to add there own twist to it / suggestion.

Yes i know the popup wont be viable, but this is just a general idea i had in my head.


Also. the thread which is already in the section is pretty much dead / useless. mods review / see all scam reports. we could require mods to add all accounts scammed/recovered when valid proof has been provided and they Ban the scammer.
this would be an extra 30 seconds of there time. this will help in the long run. scammers wont keep selling accounts over and over again. obviously the list will get bigger and bigger. and in say 6 months after this being added. you will see a reduction in account scams.

that thread is outdated. like really outdated. obviously the list would be added to the new one. but im talking about a mega-list, which is viewable whenever you click any Account section on the runescape section, as currently theres different threads in different sections.

Not entirely sure why I was tagged. I have no knowledge in the account sales market.

Who's to say that people will actually look at this lengthy list? I guess a ctrl+f search should be used.

Anything to decrease scams and make it harder for people to attempt to scam is a yes in my book. It would have to have effort of people involved i.e. staff to actually put in effort in adding to a list. I know when lists are made they are gradually forgotten and people tend to stop adding to them. I.e. the well known imposters list. (since dunworry srb'd I think)

When you say a pop up? You mean a physical pop up in your face of,
"HEY LOOK AT THIS LIST IN CASE YOU'RE BEING SCAMMED!!!! *LINK TO THREAD*", or are you just looking for a mega sticky thread? @SuF can we implement pop ups like this?

 

It's really hard to keep it updated, simply because mostly newcomers get scammed. Once they get scammed they just leave forums
Same thing about situation where they report account, they do it completely invalid and don't read thread. They just pm me with the name or post that on thread, they don't get back to me after notyfing them what's wrong. There's even requirement to link valid scam report, they don't even report scams at all. That's horrible attitude of them, but that's how it is, that's the fact, there are ~600 on list and atleast 600 OTHER accounts per year are recovered by their original owners. Without effort from newcomers and ocassional visitors on these forums, there's no chance to keep list up to date. Back in the day when I was abit more active I was PMing people who reported account recovery scams, but as I said they rarely were getting back to me
