Account Recovery? Need help

Hey guys, sorry in advance if this is the wrong section, but it's been quite a bit since I've played and thus used these forums. Anyways, I recently needed to recover an account, and I saw I had to go to the login screen for the game. I did that, and then I clicked the 'forgot password' button below the password section right where you login to play. I was prompted to enter a username, and when I did, the whole screen lags for a good couple minutes, and then it says something along the lines of 'unable to take you to this page, try again later'. So basically, I've done this (tried) many many times for two days now. Is it down or what's going on? Any alternate methods?

The best way is to contact directly Jagex by emailing them

Sometimes account get locked and glitched (happened to me once). In this case you just wont pass this java loading applet. It has something to do with JAG enabled while mail is removed or something like that.
