Account recover problem

Recently I have been renting 2 stake accounts to many people, passwords have been changed hundreads of times and yesterday both of those accounts I owe ( they are made by me, I am original owner, own original email) been recovered. Email got changed, and I had no access to the account. Ofcourse I did recover back those accounts and got them back.
Now I barely can do anything with those accounts because they might get recovered again

Anyone had this problem and would like to share your experience or thoughts?

Hasn't happened to me (renting since 2016) but most likely what's happened is one of your renters lives in a similar region to you, and they can get a lot of recovery information from logging in + many passwords. Jagex's recovery system is quite shit, they tend to accept a recovery if some info is entered + similar home ip location.

It's tough to say whether you should continue using them as if they are recovered while someone is on it, you will be liable for what they lose. Usually after one false recovery, Jagex take precautions but who knows

 

Set recovery questions which could help as you will be the only one with the set questions. May possibly prevent this

 

After I succesfully recovered 1st account they tried to recover it one more time, but nothing happend, account just got locked and I was available to unlock it using my original email. So not sure If I should do anything with those accounts

Would change every piece of information you have. Including the password and ALL other information to the email linked to the rs account. If u'r using a public IP or made the account on a public IP then maybe someone in your area knows details enough and is on an IP that is within your IP range for Jagex to think it's actually u. If accounts have been compromised in the past i wouldn't use them again. You're just putting potential future renters at risk just because u don't wanna invest in new (and most importantly safe) accounts. This could be your downfall if a dispute arises in the future.

Shouldn't be able to recover with less info than you have (from now on).

Couple of cases I made a successful recovery, the OO has better info and I was unable to recover again. Hopefully makes sense.

Looks like you wont be able to create any new accounts on your IP... :/
Also, maybe set a max rent limit to 3 per person. Or maybe rent out different accounts to the same people.

 

weird they recover it with only passwords? and no ip or email or nothing ?

Once you provide much more information then other guy, Jagex takes this recovery thing much more seriously, no problems now at all

From what I can gather is they rent the account from you 3 times for 3 passwords, then go to Hans in Lumby to see when the account was created. They then search around and try find more info enough to recover. JaGex's recovery system is fucked.
