Account Giveaways.

Hey.

I've recently seen an increase in free RuneScape account giveaways.

I'm proposing a ban upon free RuneScape account giveaways.

I know it is the members decision whether to choose to accept the account or not, however most of these 'free giveaways' are simply scam attempts.

I have personally attained a few RuneScape accounts through these 'free giveaways', with no intention of selling them or using them whatsoever, but simply to check the status of the account after a certain period of time, for example 2 weeks, to find it has been recovered (which is what I expected).

Too many people fall into receiving these accounts through these 'free giveaways', therefore disallowing this would certainly avoid potential victims from being scammed.

Once again, I know it is at the users discretion whether they choose to accept the account or not, but if this were to be implemented as a new rule, I think there would be less victims to scams.

You can't mess with free will, if someone wants to genuinely give an account away and they're banned for it, how fair would that be?

Plus of course it would not be a ban if it's their first offense.

I guess you simply do not see my point-of-view on this situation.

 

RSGP giveaways are allowed, however, RuneScape account giveaways are NOT.
