    1. Add the word 'phishing' into the Sythe.org official rules thread (http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=148431 ). Too many users are unaware it's ban worthy as there isn't a sticky, post, etc about it.

    2. Remove botnetting as a permanent ban offense if they aren't attacking Sythe.org/sythe users/gamers. Locking discussion threads about botnetting is reasonable, but perm banning users for saying, " I have a bot net" is unnecessary.

    3. I know some of our forums have a feature where you are only able to double post once per 48 hours(to prevent excessive bumping). Other forums don't. This makes more work for the market moderators cleaning out the forums.

Yet at the same time, 48 hours is pretty long. A lot of users get turned off by the long wait and have other people post on their thread to avoid the delay. The general rule we follow is you're allowed to bump once per three hours. I suggest changing the 48 hour block to three, and having it activated everywhere in the Market.

    4. Have 'free bump' as an example of spamming in the Sythe.org official rules.

    5. Make 'fake vouching' another perm offense in the official rules. I know there is a sticky, but people are more likely to view the official rule.s

    Thanks for reading.

Do mods even have to go through the suggestion process?

Needless to say I agree with everything said, no suck-up.

Everything listed in the OP sounds like a good adjustment to Sythe's rules to me. You have my support.

We shouldn't need to tell users not to scam or steal; all the formal rule would do is prevent users from admitting that they do it. Note that our goal is not to stop people from phishing on other sites - that wouldn't serve much of a point here. Our goal is to weed out the sort of member who'd do it, on the basis that anyone capable of stealing from another for selfish gain is likely to scam, and therefore poses an unnecessary risk to our members. (Plus, we don't want the phished accounts sold here, because of the risk it poses to the buyer.)

Botnet bans will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, as necessary. It depends what the botnet is being used for.

I think it's actually 72 hours - I brought it down from 120 hours, but I'm not sure who set the original limit. I'll ask if I can bring it down further. 3 hours is too short though, and that's never been the "general rule".

Eh. The rules are not supposed to be a precise code of everything a user can be infracted for - it's already quite long. Hence, we try to keep from adding too much fluff to the list. Keep in mind that users don't reference the rules every time they're about to make a post - they generally just breeze over them when they join. What's important are the main points, not necessarily the examples. But, it's not really a big deal either way.

I don't know what idiot needs to be told that inventing fake vouches is against the rules.

100% support, well put Nick. One of the greatest suggestions on sythe imo. What does bot nets have to do with sythe? Unless it is directly used against sythe or one of it's users. A permanent ban is totally unreasonable.

I agree, bot net's should not be permanent bans.

    Fake vouches are quite obvious they are against the rules;
the people who choose to use them should be dealt consequently.

I support a more severe punishment for that.

This is a cheating community. One could easily argue the pin sellers scam Jagex or cheating steals enjoyment from regular players.

My point is this isn't your typical forum, we trade and try to make money on a game. There are going to be people who phish, and it's only fair we let them know it's against the rules. Trying to 'sneak up' on them isn't right.

I understand your point about selling phished accounts, but if someone says, "Hey I tested out a phisher" we shouldn't care.

I was told people can bump once per three hours when I first got staff. What is the rule, then..? How do you define(time wise) excessive bumping or when a topic has 'died'?

Saying 'free bump' is the thing infracted most on the site so most people don't think it's spam. After all it's not necessarily an 'unhelpful comment' with reference to the OP. ;)

You'd be surprised... >_< But alright, scratch number five.

Isn't virtually everybody capable to steal from somebody?

I agree with all of them with the exception of faking vouches. That's just common sense.
