Account corruption

Hi there

Just a question i have been asking myself. Could a runescape account become corrupt?

Seeing as all your information is dealt with server side, im guessing this would be impossible unless jagex's servers themselves were to crash.

Well a few weeks ago when they had all that down time everyone lost their bound items from dungeoneering. They probably have better security or back ups for accounts etc, but it does show that there's the possibility.

 

Yeah of course. I can't think of what would happen if an account gets corrupt however it would have to be possible. I'm not quite sure if this was from corrupt profiles or something else but I had a few friends that were dungeoneering when the bug abusers shut the world offline. This caused them to loose all of their binds.

 

Intersting, i never heard about the dungeoneering event as iv'e only started to play again, after the trade and pking features were put back.

I created my account on my pc which has various BSOD issues and strange happenings/start up issues. Just cheking wheather this could corrupt my account/has already damaged my account

 

YOUR computer cannot corrupt your Jagex account.
No worries there.

 

Something would have to go terribly wrong server-side before your account would be corrupted.

 

Wouldn't matter they end up doing rollbacks frequently enough.

 

When was this? I didn't hear anything about it, I don't even think I saw posts on sythe about it?

 

So a while ago that would explain why I lost some binded items while getting 85 dung. I got kicked off and all of a sudden I was freaking out because I lost all of my binded items. I then logged out again then I had my primal dagger at least but lost the current item I just binded. That's interesting, I never knew that happened.

However on the topic of being corrupt, I feel like my main is corrupt because I've had it at frosties for well over..... I'll say 100 hours with roughly 50 ancient effigies sitting in my bank, if not more. I have yet to get a visage drop. I've checked my drop log so many times, and the only thing that shows is ancient effigies

 

Please don't spout crap that isn't true. Not everyone in all of RS lost bound weapons, just some of those that that were in a dungeon at the time of the server crash.

Doesn't say anything about dung binds but that's the one I mean.
