Account Banned

If an account is banned what happens to the display name?
Is it free to use after a certain amount of time?

 

I think it is. Perhaps available right after it is banned. Why do you ask though?

 

I have a rare name account that was banned a little over a month ago, wanted the display name.

 

I really don't think so. If you try to log into a banned account months later, it says it is still banned. Because of the need to appeal and track appeals, they cannot simply remove the name from the database.
