[ACCEPTED] Configurable User Information + embedded vouch link

Let's make use of prime real estate on our accounts.

1. Customisable personal information. Means we can more clearly display what we want to. Enough with placing discord tags in the occupation box etc etc.

2. Show a clickable vouch link under a users personal info, if said user has filled in the 'Vouches:' box.




These could be a donor perk.

This would make viewing people's vouches so much easier. I also personally do not use the occupation and location setting but if I were able to change it to discord and UID then I would actually use those options.

 

I like this. I’ve never used the occupation & location fields. I don’t see much use for them here other than fillers. If it’s not a ton of workload, I think switching them with Discord & UID is great. A lot of users put this information in their user title, so it could free that up as well.

great idea. I think putting discord fields would be much better to have than location and occupation.

 

Support this to the fullest, ESPECIALLY the Discord ID/UID part. Viewing someone's profile at this moment is basically obsolete, this would give it some real use.

I wonder if this is an option though with the current forum software. I hope it is. The only thing that I would change on this suggestion is making it a donor perk, this would help prevent scams so it should be available to everyone.

Could work well as a donor perk, but also no issues with it being available to all as a standard feature.

One oversight element that needs to be present is the ability for staff to see when said fields were amended/edited. Why? In the instance a user attempts to scam by editing said details, and or, if they intentionally post conflicting details (threads with different details for example).

I agree with what Sellerman said above, it's quite a nice idea and I think it would be nice if it was free to all users to use. I also like your idea of adding a vouch link to our threads - good job!

Great idea. I support this. but to clarify it wold have a vouch link under your post on thread on the right side as well? Like under your sythe gold and mini ranks are?

 

Yeah I guess so. Anytime you can see the location / occupation / sythe gold / join date etc stuff

 

Not a fan of the customizable fields suggestion (I actually think this might be impossible to implement from a Matthew pov), but I think location -> discord and occupation -> UID are both logical changes. I'm not sure why vouches aren't part of the standard user profile, but I would prefer it if those were added there rather than having everyone link them in their signatures. And ditto what SM said about having all those fields be logged upon editing.

Support, also think occupation and location should be replaced with other things like contact info etc because pretty much all people use it for other stuff than occupation and location

 

Waiting to hear back from sythe about this one. On another note, we did add a line for unique IDs in the information tab
