What's genuine about scamming someone and then ban evading numerous times? I don't get that logic

people can change though, I barely see anyone putting that much effort into their pardons. I mean it's possible he is lying and wants to cause trouble again but I think he meant it. What if there are restrictions put on these type of pardoned accounts? like 1 month no market sections or something.

Yes, a lot of people go for the sob story :P

Unbans with restrictions, such as TWC, forumban etc were done away with on the basis that if you don't fully trust someone to be unrestricted then don't support them. And rightly so IMO.

there isn't really much point of a pardon system then lols. I mean the only people who get pardoned would be well known who are popular within the community as long as they are honestly sorry for their mistakes and make the full intention of paying back the customer.

Exactly.....

The pardon system is a privilege and personally I don't want a site packed with scammers and dishonest people unless I'm sure that the person has good intentions. Those sorts of people are therefore more likely to be accepted because they've shown the attributes we look for.

Dafuq?

OT : If you don't fully trust someone to be safe on Sythe, don't support their unban. Simple.

It's a little bug lol

Yeah but then no-one should be unbanned. Personally, I can never "fully" trust anyone who has been banned for doing something they shouldn't have.

I don't like the 'if we weren't friend/you weren't famous' approach that the pardon system has devolved into, but I agree that if the staff don't post it means they obviously don't support it. It'd be stupid for a bunch of mods to just post no support all the time.

A staff only poll could be added with options Support, No support, Abstain. After a certain combination of time/votes the pardon would be denied. This would make it clear whether enough staff have given attention to the pardon.

I like this idea.

Auto-poll for threads in the pardon section would require a bit of hacking around vBulletin, but if Govind is up to the task, it shouldn't be that hard.

Support.

Don't know why this was suggested yet again.

It's simple, people who where banned do not have the right to a pardon. It's a privilege. You have to work for a pardon it doesn't just fall in your lap after making a request. I had have friends pm mods, I added them on skype, anything i could do to direct their attention to my request. Rules are Rules, don't get banned and you have nothing to worry about. For those people that have made requests and have not received enough votes, try harder next time to get your thread active. If you wanted to be on sythe that bad, but you lack the effort needed, don't bother requesting a pardon. no support

Edit: As for the poll, that literally makes no difference. Take 5 seconds to click a poll answer, or 5 seconds saying no support/support is the same thing.

Hope you realise a large majority of current trusted/market giants/staff have been pardoned (PM me if you're unsure who these users are). The system is yes, a privilege, but it's one that benefits both Sythe.org, said user, the community and market. Yes, in some cases said pardoned users may return with ulterior motives; but overall the positives are more omnipotent.

Yes I'm aware. The community/market are fine. If they wouldn't have been pardoned people would have taken their place.

The pardon system was put into place for site mainstays, not random joes. It's evolved some into letting a lot more people back. The time limit has been increased. The upper voting has changed to make it faster. Reading pardons can take awhile and the mods don't get any mod score from posting so it is more efficient for them to not do them and do stuff that actually gives them mod score because that's pretty much all that matters to anyone. Tis silly but that's how it's done.

I see what Roary means about the sob storys that's what a good percentage of pardons are like.. I know I would deny straight away any type of BS like " My gran died 2 days before I got banned and her death put me in a turmoil state of depression so I decided to scam rsgp to drown away my sorrows, please unban "

But seriously Win4Funs idea is awesome... Like a big poll which automatically takes place when a pardon is posted, it allows the mods to choose out of options like support & no support and once chosen it will then give them the mod a chance to elaborate on their answer and let the user know the reasoning behind why his appeal is denied. I think that would be a lot better than just no support, because I have an old friend called TheLuckyNub and I remember he has refunded for the scam(s) and paid off the people involved accept from one person who he couldn't get it contact with and I believe he paid Roary the amount of what was scammed in todays prices..

But yeah on most of his it was shit like vetoed or whatever it is.. I really think some other system should be put into place, I see what people mean about banned members shouldn't get kind of special treatment to new features etc but there are a lot of banned members who have a genuine reason to get unbanned.

Keep going peepz lemme' hear dem opini0nz

I don't see how a poll is any different from a post. They type: no support
or click: no support.

they still have to post if they want to provide a reason for it. Maybe if anything make them post saying if they are staying out of that pardon due to lack of knowledge.

"Maybe if anything make them post saying if they are staying out of that pardon due to lack of knowledge." Nonono they shouldn't do that, it is not hard at all for a moderator to find out about it and look for info on the case.. They always have access to speak to other mods, they will always have access to lookup the user, regardless of whether they know the case or not they should fulfil their role as a moderator and find out about it. I always see Video on pardons, reports etc finding info about the case and you see a response within minutes with his decision.

It's not like mods don't have the resources to find out about someone..

The only difference would be the option to vote for "abstain". If a mod has no opinion on the pardon they might not want to type "No support" without being able to justify their decision. Otherwise its difficult to tell if a lack of responses means mods haven't seen it or they just didn't want to vote.

Then again a mod could just as easily reply with "abstain". So although a poll would be slightly more convenient, if its difficult to implement then typing it manually would work fine.
