So I would like to donate the minimum 5$ required to do a name change. This name was made clearly a long time ago with the intent to sell membership for PBP pins, but I was young lazy and didn't have much funds, so I gave up on that.

Then when my main got banned for Botting I completely quit. It quite recently got unbanned after 7 or 8 years, as were a whole bunch of others and basically I wanted to come back.

Can't stand the name tho lol, but apparently the email already had this name created and was used here when I tried making a new account, I totally forgot about this...

Sorry TLDR,

Question is are any of those payment options able to accept Visa Credit Cards, I literally have 0 experience with anything but a credit card. You can add a credit card to PayPal and donate that way? Any help would be appreciated.

I hope this isn't in the wrong section...

Seems like you have a little confusion, 5$ is a minor name change and 200$ for more complex name changed, this post below should explain it:

Those eligible for a major name change request are those who:

Have donated a minimum of $200.
Have a join date which dates to at least a year prior to their name change request (OR are a $300 donor, which are eligible for a name change after 6 months / $500 donor, which are eligible for a name change after 3 months).
Have 2FA enabled at the time of their request and pass an IP check (To enable 2FA visit https://www.sythe.org/account/two-step and for a guide see: here).
Have not previously changed their name via the major name change system.
Must have not been banned or had a DNT for more than 2 weeks nor received a pardon within the last 3 months. Cannot have a TWC at time of request either.
A second major name change can be approved if you have had your name for at least a year and you are a $500 donor

NOTE: One character name requests are not honored and in rare cases we can deny a request without reasoning.

Username change requests we currently honor:

Please bear in mind your desired name must be available/not taken, or it belongs to a user who has been inactive for at least 3 years - inactivity is different for long-standing accounts or those who have a tendency to return every few years.

Removal of numbers in a name (Example: Name1224 to Name)
Replacement of a number in a name (Example: N4m3 to Name)
Removal of characters such as underscores or hyphens (Example: User_Name to User Name or UserName)
Capitalization or de-capitalization of a name (Example: name to Name or Name to name)
Removal of special characters in rare cases where the user profile glitches
Removal of random letters that do not add to a username (Example: UserNameAsdf to UserName, NOT UserNameGaming to UserName)
Minor corrections of spelling
Major name change

Process of requesting a name change:

Fill out a Name Change Request Form.
An Administrator will review your request:
If you fall under honorable name change request number 1, 2, 3 or 4, your request will usually be honored.
If you fall under honorable name change request number 5, 6, 7, or 8, your request will be reviewed more in-depth.
If your name is changed, your User Title will be edited to reflect your previous name for 6 months unless only a capitalization or de-capitalization occurs.
All name changes will be listed in the List of Username Changes thread unless only a capitalization or de-capitalization occurs.
If your name is not changed, you will be notified as to why and given another opportunity to apply depending on the reasoning.

A note on banned names: As of 3/26/2019, we are allowing name changes to names belonging to banned users. In order to qualify for such a name change, you must pay for all scams associated to that user on any accounts they may have had on sythe. This does not guarantee we will approve the name change though as we reserve the right to deny a name change to a banned user's name for any reason

A note on approved name changes: As of 7/6/2019, A placeholder account will be created to hold a users previous name for 6 months. This will be noted in the placeholder account's user title. After 6 months, the username will be eligible for future name changes through this thread.

Most of payments methods you can just connect a card too and pay the user, example paypal

Oh so you can request name changes regularly. Ah thanks for clearing that up for me. Clearly confused I was. Lots to learn.

Good to know incase I do want to end up donating.

You Post it in the Donor Lounge under the sticky thread for name change request. You can not see it until you have donated though. Just a heads up you cant do any major name changes unless you donate $200 so your name will basically be the same. You can request a new account though but you will lose your 2007 join date if you care about that at all.

Thank you, that definitely cleared it up for me. I understand.

I did initially try making a new account anyway, totally forgot about having already made this eons ago, so it was a nice surprise. I'll def think about it.

Maybe I might consider donating 5bux a month or something till I eventually hit 200.

The way you've got to see it as donating to Sythe help's the forums stay afloat which allows for all of us to continue to operate a business or just have a place to communicate with others. I'd say doing it just for a name change shouldn't be your only reason. Do it because you feel helped or want to thank Sythe which is always a better motivational reason.

your account is still "newcomer", if you wanna save money. Just make a new account with your desired name prior to having permission.
