Ideologically, my argument (a passable argument in law) is strong enough to support this suggestion be implemented for all users. If you want to make it a donator perk, or test it on a select, generally more trusted, few (eg $200+ donators), I have no issue with that. But whether the suggestion should be made a donator perk/what donator level it should be allowed at is more an issue for Sythe/Matthew than an argument for/against the suggestion here. How can you be so sure? Some donors donate $200 or $300 to scam amounts higher than that. For example: Billy Talent.
How could it be abused anymore than posting, creating threads, or editing posts can be abused?Potential for abuse.
Yes, people could abuse this. While for the most part people are good, there is a chance that this could be abused.
It's faster to be able to change your thread title yourself, and easier for all parties. It's fast enough to PM a staff member.
I agree; a verification process would be pointless and at best equal to the current system.Assuming you do have a verification process, the speed at which your title gets changed is already very fast by a simple PM.
Assuming you do not have a verification process, coupled with point 1, you save around a few minutes, big woop.
Your idea of moderating has been created, by and large, by this site. Allowing all members to change titles is allowed on many other sites with stringent moderating and the moderators are respected just the same. This is also not a logical argument, just a personal fear of change (a natural instinct). As for the point of saving the mods time. Moderators volunteer to moderate Sythe.org If changing titles isn't moderating, then something has gone amiss in their mod title.

I would say it might be slightly easier to evade mods's suspicions, but it would not allow people to avoid . As staff cannot see previous edits of posts (unless it is on googlecache or a similar system), it is decently easy to resell recovered accounts today. In example:It would make it about 232345 times easier to sell and recover accounts if everybody had this privilege. I can sell a nice 138 for 80m, then edit the original post saying sold. 2 weeks later I would edit the title to say my lvl 122 skilling account, then I would recover my lvl 138 and sell it again.
These forums where trading forums.
Editing posts will never be stopped.

Just saying, Tiger9110 did the same thing you said by removing all the original post once he sold and my report still proved he resold the account (without the use of google cache).I would say it might be slightly easier to evade mods's suspicions, but it would not allow people to avoid . I sell a level 138. I remove all screenies/info in post once I sell it and write 5char as the entire post. I then recover account two weeks later and sell it again.
Are there two threads that say selling 138 that there wouldn't be with the proposed system? Yes, there are. But if someone did what I just explained, there would be no way to prove the account was recovered except to re-recover the account and screenshot the IP, which can be done under either system.
This falls under my original ideology: If posts can be edited, titles should also be allowed to be edited, as both have the same general benefits and risks.

The only defense for this is those are deemed necessary. How could it be abused anymore than posting, creating threads, or editing posts can be abused?
It being faster is irrelevant. It being easier is also irrelevant. What is fast, and what is easy does not necessitate it being the best. It's faster to be able to change your thread title yourself, and easier for all parties.
Agreed.I agree; a verification process would be pointless and at best equal to the current system.
