    Very heroic of him indeed, but the article didn't actually say how he saved the kids, it just said the kids made their way back up to the shore, it didn't say anything like the surgeon managed to push/drag them to the shore.

    He's still a legend for giving up his life trying to save them, but i think the article is a bit misleading, it sounded like the kids managed to save themselves without the assistance of the hero, and they just titled him as saving their lives when nothing was said to indicate this.

    Either way, what a great guy.
