A thought on Illegal Immegration.

I know there is plenty of things you can say good and bad about it.

I have a few bad things to say, and am willing to argue my point on it.

Our country has an immigration problem. There is no doubt about that.

I saw someone post somewhere else that mexicans are willing to work for money, there is no homeless mexicans, but tons of american homeless.
That is because Illegal mexicans, work for below minimum wage, thus shutting out jobs for american citizens. We cant help it if we cant get a job.

I was watching gangland the other day while home from school sick.

There was a mexican gang that said they will eventually take over america and there is nothing we can do about it.

I personally will fight to my last breath to see that our country is not taken over by illegal immegrants.

If they want to come in here, and take our money, have them get a green card, and become a citizen of our country.

I have no problem with a mexican citizen of america. I have problems with illegal immigrants taking our jobs, and ultimately putting our people out on the streets.

I used to hate illegal immigrants. Coming over to my country, taking our jobs.. Blah blah blah..

But then I really thought about it. All people are doing is trying to do the best for themselves and their families, can you criticize them for that? I know for a fact that if I lived in a dump of a country, where crime and poverty were high, I'd do everything I could to get myself and my family a better quality of life, whether it be inside or outside the law.

And so would every other person..

Yeah, we would work for lower wages, if it was legal for our employers to offer it to us.


Plus, if I have the degree's to work for 60 bucks and hour, and some mexican comes along and says hey, ill do it for 5, im gonna argue about it, and not want to move from 60 to 5, and when hes got the job, he has it, i cant just be like, well since im living on the street with no job, ill do it now.

how would they go about doing this in any effectual manner? also, you country thrives on the cheap labour provided by illegal immigrants. also, your birth rate is not enough to keep your population at a high enough level. you need immigrants.

impressive. my point was that you have no personal experience in the matter. the only knowledge you have to go on is media reports, youtube videos and your peer groups views.

lobby for the right to work for lower wages legally. i dont see any propositions for it.

if you obtained degrees in order to work in your field and some illegal immigrant came and got the same job for much cheaper, i wouldnt have a problem with the immigrant, i would have a problem with the school who obviously didnt teach you any more than an average illegal immigrant knows.

im sure the the middle east hated it when america flooded the markets with their cheap cotton. hey, that is how supply and demand works.

There are very few people who have problems with legal immigrants. The fact is we are all immigrants (Yes, even Native Americans. They migrated to this country at one point). People have a problem with immigrants violating the law and coming here illegally, only to steal our resources.

Stealing our resources? Any work at all is helping the economy. What resources are you talking about specifically? Jobs?

Also, people have a problem with assuming any Hispanic as Mexican and illegal; or their parents being illegal.

You don't blame the people who will work for the lower wages, blame the people who give them the jobs and who look away from their lack of personal information to prove their citizens. And if your job is taken by a person who cannot even speak the same language as you, fluently, you cannot complain.

I, too, would say it is wrong to point at every Hispanic person on the street and say they are here illegally.

First of all, I do think it is wrong for businesses to knowingly hire illegal aliens. They should be punished when they hire them. Second of all, I do put blame on the illegal immigrants themselves; after all, they are the ones knowingly breaking the law. Lastly, if my job is taken by an illegal alien who cannot speak English, I believe I would have every right to complain. They should not be here illegally, and they should not be hired.

I really don't see how hard it is to comprehend the simple fact that their entire existence in our country is illegal. OP is correct in the sense that there are legal ways to come into the United States, afterwards, you can do all you want; the local law enforcement will deal with you.

I mean honestly, there shouldn't even been any debate.

Immigration is a very simple matter.

There is Legal, and Illegal immigration. If they manage to go through all the right avenues, then please, go for it.

But what annoys me, as an Australian, they get on there boats, made from bamboo leafs, and twigs. As soon as they sink/crash, Australia's navy is blamed on there deaths?

Secondly, Australia's government is now paying illegal immigrants, $3000 to return back home. $3000? Firstly, the immigrants get fed, homed, looked after, while, some TRUE Australian's sleep on the main streets of our Capital cities. Sure, some of the people on the street, could well change their current way of life, but instead of spending $800 a day per immigrant, we should really be creating program's to cater for Australians.

I am not in anyway Racist, and yes, they're countries are truely horrible, but go about it the right way. It's so so easy to become an Australian citizen.

These are their lives they are fighting for. They don't give two shits about the law; and they have every right not to.

If your job can be taken by an illegal who can hardly speak any english, then your job was very low in quality, and probably took little schooling. Which of such are people who are willing to do them are a dime a dozen.

As an australian i can safely say it takes 6-24 years to immigrate here the legal way and many people are refused.
I dont blame the navy for ships sinking you are correct on that matter.
As to the australians living on the street, this is one of the most socialist nations on earth, if you are on the street its through your own faults, ussually drugs and alchohol.

To the guy stating if he went to university to get a $60 an hour job and it was taken by a mexican at 5$..
Id be more worried about the fact that you had to spend years in a university to learn how to pick fruit.

The only way a Mexican is going to take your job is if he's better at it than you or willing to do it for cheaper. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Do you have any idea how difficult the process of immigrating legally to America is? It takes years, cost money, and is a difficult process.

Mexico can be a terrible place to live. The murder rates are astronomical. To ask someone to go through this process, especially one in such a bad situation, is unrealistic.

America used to let people in through Ellis Island making them do no more than a little paperwork. Now after 2001, when the laws changed, the process is terrible.

Just because something is legal doesn't mean it's ethical. The Nazis made a laws to kill Jewish people. Under your rationality the Jewish people shouldn't have resisted the laws, which would eventually mean death.

Most illegal Mexican immigrants do the jobs that Americans refuse to do for far below minimum wage. Did I say that Americans REFUSE to do those jobs?

Now lets look at 2 alternatives.

Kicking ALL these illegal immigrants out. The ramifications of this are worse for America. I'll let you think what they may be

The problem with this is that now businesses have to replace over 20 MILLION jobs, this may seem all good and well, however these immigrants agreed to do these jobs for far below the LEGAL MINIMUM wage. This is what makes some businesses even more profitable; they get the same if not better workmanship for a fraction of the price.

The other problem with this is that the employers will probably outsource jobs to Mexico, or China simply because of this minimum wage and as I said, this would be worse for America as now there are less people to pay taxes! (Yes you can still file a tax return if your an illegal immigrant)


Ok fine then make them legal citizens? The problem with this is much subtle.

If they were to be treated like legal American citizens, then they would be subject to the minimum wage, and the ramifications would be just the same.


What America has now works. I agree its an outrage some illegal immigrants now have lives better than some Americans. However; thats life It's not fair.

The americans can work cheap just like the illegals if they are desperate enough, most of them would rather be on welfare and complain about not being able to get that job picking fruit or digging fence post holes they had no intentions of ever actually trying to do.

Simply put, Illegal immigrants work for their money for THEIR family. What are you doing? The same thing. They should have just as much of a chance of living here as you do. We were born american citizens, they weren't. Put yourself in their shoes man, if Mexico, Costa Rica, whatever.. Was better than America and was blocked by fences and if you tried crossing over because you had NO money, NO food, Scraps for clothes on, wouldn't you try it? Because there is nothing in your country resourceful for you? And you ended up either getting shot, raped, or sent back? OR by some chance you made it. And all you want to do is have a roof over your head and food on the table for your children, don't you think it is worth it? And they're trying to take over our country? I agree they work twice as hard, thats not the point. The point is that the countries own citizens are worse off than illegals. However this is a matter of opinion so I'll leave it at that.

Its illegal for the illegals too, my best friend works $4 under minimum wage and is an australian citizen, he works with a few illegal immigrants from indonesia, he doesnt care so long as he gets enough money to get by.

Let me rephrase, it's illegal for employers to hire employees and pay them under a set guideline.
