    A simple guide to securing documents with passwords on Windows XP

    Hey sythe!

    This is my first guide made to help secure documents and files. It is simple to use and hope you understand it. Please take the time to read my guide fully and leave a post with your thoughts.

    This guide might be common knowledge but is easy to use and very simple. In the end no one will be able to log on to your computer
    and access the documents without knowing the password but you can still be keylogged.

    The steps.

    1) Put the document you want to be protected into a new folder like so (to make a new folder in case you didn't know there is a shortcut located in the
    picture below)
    [IMG]

    and the document that I'm going to protect is called "Account information"
    [IMG]

    2) Go back to that new folder that you made (the one that has the document in it) and do the following;
    Right click on it then go to "Send to" > Compressed zip folder, like below
    [IMG]

    Okay so now you have this;
    [IMG]

    3) Delete the folder on the left so you have just the compressed zip folder (the one that you made)

    4) Right click on the folder that you have now and press explore
    Like so (duhh)
    [IMG]

    5) and a new window will pop up, then simply go to File > Add a password
    [IMG]

    6) Now you can type in your new password and easy as pie, you have protected your document :)
    [IMG]

    That is what comes up when you double click/open the notepad document.
    [IMG]

    So to get back to the document do the following;
    Explore the zip folder
    Go into the folder in the window that just popped up and use your password to get into the document.

    Please note that I am obviously using Winrar so there would be no need to right click on it and "Explore" so just skip that step.

    Other then that, keep safe and hope you liked my guide. All feedback will be appreciated, please also correct any grammar that I've typed incorrectly.
