A reason to get Firefox!

IE is for people who want to get viruses from watching too much porno..

mates, at some point lets quit "owns" "better" and other non constructive labels.
In my humble opinion, they are quite the same, each one got advantages and disadvantages.
When someone says "firefox is open source !" heh, what you expect modify it on your own will ?? only people who wrote it can spawn new versions actually, none can start from scratch building things over that, so actually being opensource isn't that important.
Viruses ? that's a problem whatever browser you use, as long as it can run active content, so basically browsing carefully and setting your preferences in a way you avoid this is what recommended.

The huge problem of firefox is the sessions management (this problem is visible as well in opera), if you open 2 firefox windows and log with one on a yahoo account for exemple, and try to log with second to another yahoo account you'll see how fun would be that (THIS IS AN EXEMPLE, NOT A TAGETED BEHAVIOUR).

Other than this , they are really the same

That's no argument... I've seen that with IE too.

A few of my arguments.
Firefox have:
* Extensions, I wouldn’t bare my computer life without adblock, gmail manager and DownThem All.
* Themes, it’s nice to be able to personalize your browser if you want.
* Tabbed browsing, I always have about 8 tabs open. My comp wouldn’t bare with 8 IE windows which I would have to have if I used IE.
* More configuration options. about:config is pwnage
* Malicious web sites can never install spyware without your permission.
* Firefox blocks unrequested pop-ups and never allows web pages to create hard-to-close full-screen windows.
* Firefox have transparent .PNG support which totally is the best format when doint webpages.

Why would you use that bloated, piece of shit of a web-browser known as FireFox when there is a much better alternative out there?

Opera. All the extensions, standards-compliant (unlike FF, IE) and more secure than both FF and IE.

Opera > IE7 > FF

Do some research and you'll agree with me.
