A online pokemon rpg

Hello everyone I wanted to discuss and get peoples opinions on this. I currently am developing a online pokemon rpg game that eventually when finished will allow online play with battling and trading etc.

I am working on each city design right now and the storyline for the new region. I eventually will make the old kanto and johto regions as well.

For the engine so far i have the battling system done
i have all the pokemon added in
along with moves and tms
the pokedex done along with all the pokemons information for the pokedex
trainer battles
gym battles


pretty much the core of the game is complete i just need to complete each city and tune up the battle system a bit.

Do you guys think continueing a project like this is worthwhile?

I will post screenshots soon also if your interested in working on this a bit with me feel free to ask. I am working for some graphics artists some level designers and some programmers.

Ya it can be worthwhile. If you do a good enough job and open it free to the public you could try giving perks or exclusive content to donators. Let us know if you need testers or something.

I would pay to play that game. I wish the creators of Pokemon would have made this along time ago though. It seems like a great/promising project.

Sounds like a good idea but getting from the process of finishing the game and making it playable by a big online community is crazy!

 

I heard some people are making a mod for Half-Life 2 where you go around in the kohto and johto islands too, or whatever they are called.

This seems awesome. Especially if it's online. Be sure to make it possible to write messages and stuff!

it says alpha on one because that was the original project name but changed it to jolt as it seemed more friendly.

 

Pre-made engine, doubt you did any coding at all. Old-gen graphics. Good luck trying to make money off of it without being sued for copyright infringement.

 

I have a few more things to edit and i will let some people dl and test out the beginning. the beginning is still very glitchy. When you first go into your moms house you get your running shoes and some other things from her but after you get it the dialogue randomly pops up again while your picking your pokemon. and the battles seem kind of slow from the waiting time i have between each move. should be fixed soon though
