I'm not disagreeing with any of your other points, just saying that what you just said makes absolutely no sense. The point of having the trade is to prove you handled/can be trusted with X amount of gold, so if 1000m was $500 at the time, you still handled $500 at the time whether 1000m is now worth $500 or $5.

I agree with this for what it's worth
