A new J-mod

Oh Jagex have had him a while, I'm guessing they hired him at RuneFest 2011 when he showed them a fully working RSBuddy bot client.

If I met him in-game, it'd be interesting interviewing him. '"ol everyone at Jagex must really like you, the guy they've been working against for ages."

 

He brought the bot apocolypse with him.

 

So... what's the story? Did this guy sell out RSBuddy?

(I'm not much of a botter, so I never really kept up with the whole Nuke thing >_>)

 

The bot nuke was a week before Runefest. MMG announced that if anyone could create a bot within a month of the nuke, he would hire them. (He was joking I believe) Jacmob took his challenge, and a week later, Jacmob showed MMG his full functioning bot. Then MMG hired him on the Anti-Botting team I believe.

Unfortunately this is old news.

It has affected botting by the closure of RSbuddy.

However it has not affected it as to the extent of RiD and other scripts to continue working.

 

I believe that a team of professional programmers could stop botting on their own. Yeah he may be very smart, but there is ALWAYS a way around something and it hard for anyone to think of every possibility.

He is the KING of botting, once it gets out of hand again, he WILL shut it down, have no doubt.

The FBI does the same thing with hackers. It's not weak, it's smart.

Where's proof of this 'working client'? Until someone presents it to the public as a proof (not releasing, just proof) then I won't believe it.

I don't think they'd see it as them working against the botters directly as the botting community doesn't really bot due to some animosity towards jagex.

 

This ^. I call bullshit on Jacmob bringing a fully functional bot to Runefest.

 

Botting isn't dead, they just killed one type of botting.

Color botting hasn't left since its start and the only thing jagex can do is temporarily delay individual scripts (maybe some times every one) but knowledge of color scripters is constantly improving while jagex is staying at the same loop.

The best thing I would suggest them to do is look into opengl. Hiring jacmob might be useful to prevent reflection coming back, but he will be proved useless soon unless he learns new stuff and move to other areas.

 

This is very old new, several months ago this came out.

It wasn't fully functional.

 

He's an asshole for doing what he did, he had a great site going but then he decided to fuck 10k+ people over.
