People Using Paypal Suggestion. Drastically Reduce Scamming

    Well,
I sold my Level 115 Account.
I accepted Paypal, but i had an idea which worked to sweet perfection.
    Player A (Seller) & Player B (buyer)
    Player A Sells Item
Player B Uses Paypal to Pay
Player B goes to Ebay and buys an instant online ebay certificate $25,50,100,200,400
Player B gives to Player A
Player A can either spend on ebay or alternatively use 2 accounts and buy a fake item that A created.
If alternative is used, the payment is transferred instantly to your paypal.

    YOU CANNOT GET SCAMMED

    I SOLD MY 115
    AND USED THIS METHOD
    RECIEVED 2 SAMSUNG TOUCH PHONES
    CLOTHES
    XBOX360
    2 COPIES MW2

Presuming it's easy enough to create a fake item(no ebay experience) I support.

So does someone have to pay $25,50,100,200,400?
Fatih, I swear your not aloud to have paid for ranks that mislead people into thinking your something your not?
Yours suggests official middle man when your no where near that, Just saying.

He's not saying he's official, doesn't have the rank. Only an absolute idiot would think he's official. It's not misleading since he is middle manning. If he paid for the rank he should be allowed to advertise.

Where does it say Official Middleman?

To not getting an infraction I'll put some on-topic: Isn't this a lot to go through for a simple payment? I see it can be a good idea if it's $100+, though.

Just use WU for the big payments and send/receive money with Paypal for the little amounts.

Essentially, your suggestion is simply to accept gift certificates (whether from ebay or elsewhere) in place of cash. It's not a terrible idea, but a gift certificate can probably still be deactivated if the buyer reports it as stolen and provides proof of purchase. Nothing is foolproof.

Sin666, it's still better then Paypal. With paypal you just press a couple of buttons, write some random shit, and boom you got your money back.

It seems like too much of a hassle for common or smaller trades. I mean, I wouldn't mind using it, it's just the fact that if someone can be trusted it's an avoidable step.

Maybe if the time it takes can be reduced significantly I'll be on board, but forcing it on all trades is a bit over kill.

It's pretty much the same thing. The person buying the certificates can say that his Paypal was stolen, and the certificates would be void.

It's a good idea, but I think some people won't want to take the time to put a listing on eBay. This may seem foolproof but there is always a way to get around something.

I wouldn't go through the trouble to do that.

    WU is more efficient.

I don't know how certificates work, but just to let everyone know about ebay; when you sell something, you have to pay a 'seller' fee to Ebay. I'm not entirely sure what you meant at the end of your post when you said "an item that Player A created".

Just saying that you have to pay fees. If you sell any item (real or fake) on ebay for $35, your fee you pay to ebay would be around $5-6. I've sold many many things on there to know this.

well to avoid the certificates being VOID, they must be used instantly, therefore the scammer can't take back :D
