I wouldn't because I would be dreading that very day and I would be depressed greatly if it was a date quite early and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. I would just go on living my life peacefully and when I go, I am not aware of it.

Curiosity would get the best of me, I'd open it. Although, I'd probably regret it after doing so.

Is it possible to make this thread into a poll?

I think that would be interesting.

I don't think it is possible anymore now that the thread is already created. Try making a new thread with a poll. I want to see it too.

I was more hinting at the fact that maybe mods have the ability to edit OP's post and possibly add a poll, but that we'd need OP's consent first.

Yeah, I'd open it. I've got a strong will so I don't think I'd get severely depressed just because my end is near. I would make plans on who will get my property, where I'd like to be buried, how to clear all of my debts and shit like that just so that I can prevent unnecessary problems for my to-be-family.

All of this sorta reminds me of Death Note.

He said 'if', damn it... Whenever I tell someone to assume even the most ridiculous things, they ask me questions like that too and quite frankly, it pisses me off.

No, because then I'd start obbsessing about what I'd do and not do before I die. I just want to live my life and have no regrets when I die. If I think too much about doing this and that, in the end I won't really die peacefully, since there's always something I could do or fullfill before my death.

I would as it would help me plan my life and change things faster if I know my day is coming. I would enjoy life even more and I'd do everything to make everyone around me happy, so I would leave peacefully knowing everyone around me is happy. I would kind of prepare my death and my entourage.

It's funny because the future is already written so if you don't read it you'll die and if you read it you'll still die but in a different way. When you think about it, if you read the date then the date would be wrong because you altered your future and hence your death just by reading it. So the date that you are given is extremely inaccurate. And if you don't read it nothing will change and it'll remain a mystery.

Actually that depends. If it's just the date on the letter then you really don't know what could happen, it could be anything from tripping and falling down the stairs to walking out your door and getting shot or maybe just having a severe heart attack.

"If" you know what it says you'll die from, 'then' you can take a little extra care to try to avoid it, you may or may not be able to still.

I would open it, curiosity would get the better of me for sure. It'd also be interesting to know, and hey, if you know the date of your death, maybe you could prevent it.

When It comes to death, All I can say is when i'm on my death bed. and I'm Whatever Age I am, I'll have to say that life was a good run but knowing my death date at 14 would defiantly change my view on death; I would fright the day and try to avoid it,
    So no. I wouldn't
