This article is about the recent oil spill in the gulf of Mexico, and how it has devastated the oyster fisheries which are of huge use economically to the region. Because there has never been an oil spill of this size in such an important fishing area, marine biologists are unsure of what effect the spill will ultimately have. However, the early signs are promising, at least for this particular species. As the biologists and fishermen travelled out into the Gulf, they began to find signs of a recovery in oyster stocks, even in some of the areas worst affected by the spill.

That looks great, but one thing, is that even ecology? I don't pay attention in class, correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure that has nothing to do with ecology? or am i wrong?

The way I saw it, it was to do with the recovery of the ecological system after the oil spill.

And maybe you should pay a bit more attention in class >_<
