Report A Scammer

Not sure if this is viable, but here's the suggestion.

Seeing that there are so many people reporting scammers without proper proof, and without reading the stickies first, why don't we MAKE them read the stickies.
By simply placing the stickies at the top of the forum does not help. The victims are too bent on reporting the scammers and getting them banned, and they do not bother reading the stickies before posting a report. Therefore, many reports have invalid/insufficient proof. Many moderators have to waste their precious time telling them to read stickies over and over again, and telling them that "chatlogs aren't proof".

Therefore, i suggest that when one clicks the report a scammer forum, he will be redirected to the RULES OF REPORTING/guidelines first. Also, there will be a box where it says "do not show this again".

This will help moderators save their effort in reminding members to read the stickies first. Also, moderators will not find this an obstacle as they can just tick the "do not show this again" box.

I can actually see this working. There will be some who can't be bothered to read through them, but it's worth a try, especially if it saves some of the staffs time.

Good idea, I think this should work for all sections (1st to maybe 5th time visit) As many people (including myself xD) have gotten infracted for not bothering to reading the stickies. Support

 

Yes most people can't file correct formatted report. But where do we draw the line of when to ignore reports just because they don't have everything?

I don't want to think of the idea of letting scammers get away simply because someone can't do the report 100% correct the first time.

 

I agree with this suggestion. Unfortunately, there is no innate way in vBulletin to do that.
