I grew up with 3 old english mastiffs.

My parents chose them because they are amazing with kids.

American Pit-bull Terriers are extremely nice dogs. In my experience they have been nothing but wonderful.

They're very stocky and muscular, and as expected have a high amount of energy. It stays happy when it can exercise, but if you keep it locked up inside a house all the time the dog will likely become angry and take out its energy inside the house, leaving messes.

They look pretty tough too, people who don't understand they are super nice to people will be afraid. But they will also fuck the shit out of a burglar if necessary.

If you want a family dog, I'd recommend a collie, like a welsh sheepdog

If you've got money, I'd recommend a beagle, my auntie has one and they're a beautiful dog.

I have a westie-yorkie cross. He is absolutely gorgeous and very playful

He's great with kids (I have a 6 year old brother who he's great with) and never bites people.

My grandad has always had dogs too, he's Welsh and used to work on a farm so it's something he's grown accustomed to.
He's got a Welsh Sheepdog that looks a lot like this one only a little more brown.

They're lovely dogs, very obedient, friendly and playful. I'd definitely recommend one.
