Caught..

Well, I never thought I'd post here about drinking or drugs.. but I guess I got no where to vent.

Well it all started out begging of this year, I was experimenting with pot and stuff, and after a while of doing it, basically, I been begging to have panic/anxiety attacks that were very severe, and I went to the doctor and got it checked out, the doctor told me she wasn't gonna tell my parents about it and she prescribes me anti-depressants, and after several cases of it making it worse I decided to quit them and I been getting a few more attacks of anxiety until I finally decided to tell my parents why it's been happening, which made my anxiety go away (slowly but it went away), then they told me I should quit pot and it's not good for me, and I cannot hang out with my friends no more, then I started hanging out with my older friends and It made my panic attacks and anxiety go away FULLY. But this isn't even the problem yet.. Well my sister has overdosed on alcohol two times, and she ended up in the hospital having incredibly high alcohol levels and her heart almost stopped. Well, I decided that I was gonna drink, and I drank frequently, and today I decided I was going to drink with my friend, because I found a huge bottle of wine (I know that wine has low alcohol, its better than nothing, you know?) and put it in water bottles, then my dad told me what the fuck are you sneaking out, and then I tried to play it off then my dad noticed it was wine, and I said yeah.. it's wine, then my mom gets all mad at me and it is a lot worse than it actually sounds, and I know it is my fault, and then now I cannot hang out or drive anywhere, it sucks so much.. and my parents just don't understand that if I'll be at home all the time after school, I'll probably get anxious once again, but yeah, I lost their trust so It's mainly my fault... Ugh idk how to deal with this anymore. If you got any advice, I'd appreciate it, just don't post tl;dr.. :/

 

Smoking cannabis is clearly something you can't handle, Just Don't do it.

I don't follow your logic at all. It seems like your anxiety attacks are caused by the guilt of you committing bad deeds, evident to how they started disappearing post-confession. If you sister almost died from overdosing on alcohol, why did you want to experiment with it?

Eh..... Listen, just stay away from substances that are detrimental to you. It's as simple as that. If you stay away from that stuff, you're anxiety should be non-existent. In regards on how to deal with your parents, you should ask confess fully and ask for their help in steering your life around. If you have the support of your family, you're more likely to go through detox more smoothly.

Basically - talk to them. Let them know what you're telling us. Ask them to help you steer clear of those substances. Ask them to help you get off the drugs and the alcohol. More times than not, they will help. This is the first step in the recovery process. If you want to be allowed more liberties, show them your honesty and a willingness to improve, following the suggestions outlined above.

 

I can handle it, I smoked it for some time before having WAY too much and then almost killing myself, hence why I stopped (EDIT: and not trying no more). I'm 17 in a month.

Idk, and I think guilt DID indeed have something to do with anxiety, although It happened to me while I was intoxicated, however I'm not experiencing any at the moment, so I think I'm straight for now. And I experimented because I had some gin one time and just had 4 shots (obv. it's not an overdose), and I liked it, but I don't know.. I guess I didn't think before. And about the parents thing, I did that several months ago, and it went all fine, this time it won't be so easy, although I'm not getting yelled at at the moment or anything it was like for 30 minutes. And since I lied to them (I told my dad I was carrying juice) they do not think I'm honest, and after I confessed about doing pot, they thought I'd be honest ever since, but I wasn't, so now there's probably no hope. :/ Thanks for posting you guys, it made me feel somewhat better.

 

so what you're saying is your sister got alcohol poisoning and that made you want to start drinking.
you seem to be trying to kill yourself, which really isn't good. Try doing things that normal 17 year olds do like going to the mall and pickin up chicks.

I'm 18 and been smoking cannabis for going on 9 years now, my advice about it is it's not for everyone, and if you didnt like it just don't do it.

I however don't like alcohol, drinking on occasion (like parties and such) is alright, but if you're drinking for yourself to get drunk you need to stop and rethink a few things. (some call it an intervention).

Sounds like you have too much time on your hands. Get a job or a new hobby?

 

It sounds like you knew the consequences and you even had an example of it (your sister) and you still drank. There's not much to say other than you brought it upon yourself.

 

Dont worry about telling your parents.. alot of people do it, just means you need some help getting rid of it.

Your families there for you.

 

Let me give you the simplest solution ever.

- Don't take drugs.

That includes Alcohol.

But the thing I'm not quite figuring out is :

How do you get all messed up over weed? I don't see why you would have problems with it. But, I guess in his case, he does. Maybe you shouldn't do either one of them. Cause I can already see, by what you've said in the first post, is that you would be a big time screw up if you continue the drugs and alcohol.
