Ex-Sythe scammer had the top paying Android app, and it was a scam

Crazy how some people put so much effort into scamming to make some cash. This guy went from scamming runsecape accounts to scamming thousands of people on one of the world's largest software marketplaces.

 

Nice digging you did there. Wouldn't people realise it's fake and rate the app low :"\. Maybe he had fake reviews.

The progression is an interesting one, it makes you wonder what his personality is like.

 

Thats pretty badass honestly. This is commonplace in software it seems, still what a transistion.

It's pretty sad that the Vibe guy went from being a sythe scammer to an app scammer. It makes me wonder what's next for him, and what's next for the other thousands of scammers that have joined this site.

 

Hopefully he doesn't receive anything. Usually these appstore companies like google/Apple hold payments for months before distributing them to the developers, giving them time to rectify scam issues like this. There is a scam app on the Apple Store right now that has a 4 star rating because the app tells people that if they rate it 5 stars, they'll receive more content from the app

Just to let you guys know, the user "Vibe" is actually mis-reported as the guy running the app. A simple search shows the user "InceptionDeviant" was the real culprit.

I reported these facts to android police... and received a response!))))

I'm a java developer irl and even I wouldn't have known it was a scam unless i actually decompiled the app and looked at its code. You won't know just by looking at an app.

Does anyone have his ban thread from here, e.g what he actually scammed here and how he got banned?

 

For bringing in a fake mm.

 

Honestly it's like 80% to 20% of people who don't have a clue what their doing on a smartphone let alone what they are downloading. It's probably the easiest way to rip people off because everyone is always looking to try something new or benificial to themselves.

 

This is why I don't pay for apps. 4shared for life.

 

Interesting.. What's even more interesting is some of the comments people left below the article on that site.

 

as smart phones reach a prime stage in todays society, its really a great target for people like him..unfortunately this affects all of us..buy safe guys..or use 4shared

Some say free publicity is good, but in this case I'm unsure if this is going to reflect poorly for sythe.org
