How to do a background check on a trader!

Ever wanted to know if the person you're trading with is a scammer? Well this guide will help you by some simple steps.

Google their email(very common), if their are more than one account on that email and one of them is banned please report them for ban evading here.
For me, I'd Google: [email protected]



Google their sythe name:
For me, I'd Google: Ix Syed xI



Include "scam" into the google search to look for scam reports



Search their name in the Report a Scammer archive to see if they have previously been reported, view the proof and see if it's adequate enough to trade with caution.



Search their name in the Dispute Forum archive to see if they have previously been banned, and find out what they were banned for.

Advice:

1. Remember to always take pictures in a trade if you think it's going to go wrong.
2. NEVER close the open MSN window after you get scammed.
3. Trade safe and do research before trades.
4. Don't start raging if a trade goes wrong, just report them and try to retrieve what you lost.

Good guide for new people.

 

It's a good guide Syed. It may be common knowledge for some, but still useful.

What I like about this guide is that it's explaining everything in a good and easy understandable way, and it's definitely something we need here on Sythe.

Some things you may could've worked more on is going more in-debt on the examples, try finding a user who's been reported and/or previously banned. Also, it doesn't work searching for many names (like yours) on Sythe. What you can do is using Google for this too. Search for 'Username "Section" site:sythe.org'. Like this:

All in all, it's a good and useful guide, but you could work abit more on it.

 

Yea it's a good guide and all but, who the hell looks here anymore?
Put more details and such, then get it stickied.
