What makes Runescape so addicting?

^^ Title says it all.

What do you think makes RS so addictive.

 

i think its addictive because it starts off easy to level, and then gets harder. you want to just get to the next level, which takes longer and longer

 

i think its addictive becoz of its HD graphic~~

 

Nothing.Runescape is boring

 

I think the reason for me at least for why it was so addictive and hard to let go of was because:

1. Fun
2. Enjoyable to get friends and talk to them (not friends like irl friends, I mean just people you have added and say Hi to).
3. Striving to get 2k total and be the best. (2k total was always my goal, I made it to 1992)
4. Getting all stats 70+
5. Getting good drops and becoming rich.

So yea, owning everyone and getting rich kept me in!

/I made it to: 121/131 - All stats 70+ - 350m+ - 1992 total. Then sold my account for good!

 

pking has always motivated me the most to play.

 

Botting is addicting but RS isn't addicting anymore imo, it was couple years ago when it was harder to level and stuff.

 

I think that the game is addicting because of the constant grind to achieve you goals. When you want money you will work for the money for days or weeks until you purchase the item you want and as soon as you do you go for another one. The leveling system is also unique as that you can make your character whatever you want instead of picking a distinct class such as in most MMO's this gives you a wide variety to experiment and use.

 

I honestly don't know. Over the years, I've quit RS like 6 times. But I always find myself drawn back to it a few months later. Maybe it's due to the fact that many friends of mine play it or the skills or just the feeling you feel when you've accomplished something.

I'm trying to figure it out.

 

I think it is money.

Well for me anyway I achieved my goal for 2k+ total all skills 70+ and my first 100m

My goal now is make another 100-200m so I can buy a phat and have 200-300m spare.

 

what keeps me in Runescape is Merchanting
Thats all i pretty much do now on rs im tired of skilling and all of that. My goal b4 was to get all my nub accs to 1b+ and thats still my goal.

 

Same here, I've tried to quit many times, but I always find myself playing RS again.

 

It's weird.. Most games you play will get boring after a few weeks.. But RS always hangs in there.

 

Wow, hit what i was thinking on top of the head. Anyhow it's fun and for many people as well as me like the general challenge at the least.

 

I don't really know to be honest, as some parts of the game are boring but you are still addicted xD

maybe the "pretend" girls thatvwant money from you for RS stripping ;o.

 

Sorry about double post on slow laptop will fix. Anyhow this doesnt get boring do to the emence diverisity incorperated in with the game and most online games. Such as halo, Cod4 if you play competively or even real life or even real life sports.

 

The goals etc.

 

I agree but it is also very addictive because theres always soemthing to do unless your 99 in everything and theres always someone better than you at it.

 

The emotes for the skillcapes.

 

Honestly, I really don't know. The game isn't even all that great, I often get completely fed up with it ..but yet I still play it.
