i don't get this

how do hackers hack rs accounts? my password was extremely hard to guess, words only i made up mixed with numbers, etc. it was about 15 letters long at least. and i try to get on today cuz i havent got on in like 3 weeks, and i see the invalid password thing.i dont have a keylogger cuz if i did my other accounts, email, other rs accounts and sythe account would be hacked too. how do they do this?

Maybe you downloaded RSbot and it had undetectable keylogger on.Or any other files like torrents maybe?

 

Get some sort of virus scanner. I personally use AVG and find it to work very well.

Before you ask, no I can't help you get it for free. I could name a few sites to help you in that process though, PM me if you need them.

 

Get linux, that way you probably won't get viruses.
And don't get phished, i get so many accounts in from my phishers it's unbelievable..

 

If your password is random like that, you've a Keylogger or a RAT.

Run virus scanners, after that's done recover account.

 

What does RAT stand for?

 

It stands for Remote Administration Tool, which basically means if you're infected with a RAT the hacker will be able to control your PC, upload/download files, etc. via a client such as Turkojan, PoisonIvy or something similar.

@OP Sounds like you've been either phished or keylogged, some keyloggers can be made completely undetectable. I suggest you use either Kaspersky or NOD32 to scan your computer, they are without a doubt two of the best antivirus softwares available, and if your problem is consistent you should reformat your operating system.

3)On the right it says free download This is a highly known, good, and safe program.
4)Install it then run it, when it opens it might update
5)Then on scan click quick scan give it a few minutes 5-10 depending on how many files you have.
6) when scan is over if you have files you need to remove them it says remove when scan finishes.
7)Post results here

 

hey everyone, thanks ALOT for your help you were all great but one thing i dont get...i use AVAST, i never have had a virus, because, mainly, i never download any unsafe things or torrents. Latest downloads i have done were: amplitube demo from the official site, ASIO4ALL audio thingy, and some backing tracks from a trusted website. i am extremely careful in what i download and open in emails. so this is where i dont understand how i was infected. but thanks anyway everybody. i really dont care the account was hacked, because i'm sick of RS anyway i quit like months ago but it just kinda sucks cuz i had 99 wcing, range, and mage and it was a decent fun account. but w/e lol thanks for the help again.

You probably do have a keylogger, but maybe you forgot your password in 3 weeks? If it was extremely hard to guess, and you haven't played for 3 weeks, you might of forgotten it.

 

just scan and post the results... and why dont you try to recover the account?
