6m 07 on the Warriors

I've got the Warriors winning Game 1. Only betting against 1 person. Post on this thread that you accept and pick the Cavs if you want to bet 6m 07 against me and have the Cavs winning.

Only valid until before the game begins.

 

I'm down. Straight up 6m for 6m?

 

I want it to be known that because we did not verify the bet and did not agree on the payout, the bet should not be valid. There was no reply from OP before gametime.

That being said @Hamouze , let me know if you're interested in betting on future games.

 

He stated that he's got the warriors and to post on the thread if you want to bet 6m 07 against him and have the Cavs winning (you posted, which insinuates you accepted his bet, and you also said you're down...) If the Cavs won, I wonder if you would have posted this. There was no verification of bet really required here because it was pretty straight forward. You should've posted before the game started, not after they had already lost.

In the stickied thread in this section, I have verified every bet on there and made sure both parties agree to the bet and guidelines. I don't think the rules should apply differently. We never discussed the actual payout because Cavs were not favored so 6m:6m may not be the immediate assumption. I asked a question regarding the specifications of the bet and never got a reply.

I'm not saying you are obligated to pay (in my opinion you aren't) but from an onlooker it is kind of shady posting that right after the game Carry on.

 

I completely understand. I wasn't checking sythe while I was out watching the game. Had he replied before gametime, even if I saw it later, I would be obligated to pay.

lol @Anet390 you are trying SO hard to get out of paying this 6m. I am expecting you to pay, it's a clear cut situation.

This was posted individually so those rules have nothing to do with the actual rules. I set the guidelines very obviously beforehand because I knew I wouldn't be able to check Sythe later during the day since I was out.

I have no idea if you're being serious or not. I think anyone can tell I meant this to be that you can't bet in the middle of the game.

So basically at this point you're saying that EVEN if I confirmed it before the game you would not have even saw it, so you don't even care if I confirmed it. You're saying that you won't pay out because of principle.


Anyone reading this can tell you're very simply backing out of a bet that you accepted. Just take the L on this one, don't make it a big deal.

 

Had the Cavs won I would have came to this thread when I got home, looked if you accepted the bet, and not expected any payment. In your original post you specify that I have to post and must "accept and pick the Cavs". I didn't "accept" anything, neither did you.

I was unclear if you wanted straight up or with odds because you said I'd be betting 6m against you without specifying what the payout would be (what you would be betting against me). So I said I was down, meaning I am interested in the bet. I then asked a question regarding what the bet implies, clearly expecting a reply.

I mention the stickied thread because I have never once held somebody accountable if both parties have not agreed on the exact payouts.

I'm confused how you think I accepted any specifications whatsoever.

Futhermore, the Cavs were not favored making 6m against 6m not a common wager (which is why I asked for clarification). Point spreads and odds exist for exactly this reason.

 

@Anet390 He made his terms pretty clear. I don't think he needs to post to verify that 6M = 6M.

I think it's ridiculous the rules for betting have somehow changed all the sudden.

It's completely logical to ask the specification of the bet (6m to 6m) without accepting it. If I was clear on the terms, why the hell did I ask in the first place. Obviously I was unclear, and didn't want to accept an unclear bet for THIS exact reason.

I completely disagree with having to pay him but I'm not the authority.

His terms were made clear. You posted on the thread accepting the bet and he was only willing to go up against 1 person.

 

I don't think a bet is legitimate unless both parties are aware of the bet being made and they actually ACCEPT the bet. You say I somehow accepted the bet while obviously being unclear on what bet I was taking.

Yes, I did write and monitor that betting thread myself and every bet had to have a payout that both parties agreed to via quoting and verification. None of which either of us did in this thread.

Saying that me posting on this thread is the equivalent of me accepting the bet makes no sense. Had I posted "I'm interested. 6m for 6m?" instead, would that have also been me "accepting the bet". What if I posted just "6m for 6m?". Him only wanting to go against 1 person has nothing to do with me understanding the bet. You say his "terms were made clear". Why did I ask about the terms of the bet?

Now obviously the second question about the footrace is a different term than payout, but it is EXACTLY the same concept and argument. I DID NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS IF I WAS ASKING A QUESTION REGARDING THE TERMS THEMSELVES.
