Atlantis?

Do you believe there was a "lost continent of Atlantis"?

Atlantis is basically a lost in which the inhabitants were said to be highly advanced in many areas such as technology and medicine. It was said that their land was destroyed along with the traces of their civilization.

What are your opinions? Is the an Atlantis?

No :\ I personally think its just a story

I don't think Atlantis was as medically and technologically advanced as we think. They were probablly advanced for their time but nowhere near the point we are at today. I do believe however that the City, not Continent existed.

In my opinion it's very fun to believe in such a city although I have never actually seen any proof, I like the idea of it a lot.

Atlantis: The Cayce readings spoke of the existence of Atlantis, a legendary continent with an advanced technology whose refugees peopled ancient Egypt as well as pre-Columbian America. Cayce's description of Atlantis has much in common with that of Ignatius L. Donnelly. According to Cayce, Atlantean society was divided into two long-lived political factions—a "good" faction called the "Sons of the Law of One," and an "evil" faction called the "Sons of Belial." Many people alive today are the reincarnations of Atlantean souls, he believed, who must now face similar temptations as before. It is said Atlantis suffered three major destructions, one of which was the deluge. According to the readings, a major source of turmoil was the Sons of Belial's desire to exploit the Things, sub-humans with animal appendages and low intelligence, and the movements to protect and evolve them by the Sons of the Law of One. The final destruction was the overcharging of the crystal which caused a massive explosion.

Take a look at that ^. Source

Edgar Cayce was rumored to have the ability to cure many "un-curable" diseases through undergoing trances where he could access his past lives. He stated that many of the techniques he used originate from one of his past lives as a civilian in the lost city of Atlantis.

I think this just kind of emphasizes one of the Atlantis phenomenal.

Though people don't have undeniable proof, there are evidence that points to the existance:

There are several unique pieces of evidence that have been attributed to the existence of Atlantis. Robert Sarmast undertook an expedition in the Mediterranean and claimed to have found the remains of man-made structures on the sea floor between Cyprus and Syria. Marguis d'Argain, an Egyptologist, found a ring in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt which he believed had origins in Atlantis. The Bimini Road is an underwater formation of stones located near North Bimini Island. This is believed by many to be the remains of an Atlantean wall. In addition to these discoveries, many explorers have uncovered strange crystals which they believe to be artifacts from a highly advanced civilization once known as Atlantis.

There's a lot of evidence that the pyramids were built by a society that had much more technology than the Egyptions did, and astrological hints suggest that they were made thousands of years before the Egyptions. Do I believe that there was a continent of Atlantis? No. But I do think that there was a civilization that existed and was wiped out before ours, and the pyramids are the last remnant of it.

The Atlantis we've been looking for could be already here with people living on it. Look at this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Athanasius_Kircher's_Atlantis.gif Atlantis could just be today's Austrailia. If you look at their ancestors/culture you'll see where they fit into the possibility. I may be wrong, just decided to throw it at the wall and see if it sticks.

I actually do believe in it, It's just so fascinating to know how different human beings were in the past compared to how we are now.

I actually can't say I don't believe in it. I believe that it's 100% possible.

This would be impossible. Allowing for the patterns and flow of tectonic shifts, if Atlantis was really in that place, it would more likely have shifted underneath Africa than gone south to where Australia is now. (That and the fact that Australia and New Zealand are actually one continent with the land-bridge currently submerged.

^ To the guy above me, as I said its just a thought I could really care less about Atlantis as I do not believe that it exists.

No. Plato made it up. It's an awesome idea though, hence it being mirrored everywhere in culture nowadays.
